Guild Wars 2
By: Omni_Builder Date: August 26, 2013, 6:59 pm

So I played Zen's TLH5 game (amazing, by the way) and noticed
that he updated his Favorite Earth Games to include Guild Wars
2, and I wanted to ask about it, but then I remembered this
forum!
Does anyone else play Guild Wars 2, or want to discuss?

I have a level 14 Sylvari Elementalist girl (She. Is. BLUE.)
named Faiithe and a level 30 Asura Thief (She looks creepy. XD)
named Shaakeela (I swear I thought I was going to delete her or
I woud have come up with a better name! XD) My world is
Stormbluff Isles, I believe. XD

I like how our six characters only cover three classes. :)
How do you all play your classes? I'm still figuring out Thief.
My warrior has a greatsword (with a celestial texture, thanks to
1000 achievement points) and changes her secondary a lot, like
mace/shield or double swords or hammer. She finished the first
Queen's Gauntlet challenge at level 50 (3 seconds remaining),
but only after about 10 tries. My elementalist switches between
elements pretty rapidly and uses a staff to throw lots of AoE
spells quickly.
I haven't been online much recently, but I'll definitely see if
my realm gets paired with Stormbluff in WvW.
Someone should definitely try to make Super Adventure Box
(available in Rata Sum) in Gamestar Mechanic. Could turn out
well. :)
(P.S. Spoiler alert. Once you start exploring the Orrian areas,
be prepared to die...a lot.)

I <3 my thief. My favorite combination of weapons is sword and
dagger. I don't use anything else anymore. XD My favorite skills
are shadowstep (Teleporting to the enemy and back to where you
stood before after a little bit. It goes well with traps), cloak
and dagger (stab the enemy and then stealth immediately
afterwards), This other thing, which I don't remember the name
of (It allows you to dodge and attack at the same time. I use it
the most). I really love my thief because she gets a speed bonus
in stealth mode or when she dodges. XD Plus, I can summon up to
three NPC thieves to fight with me. XD

Cool! I'll need to look for that dodge-attack ability. I gave
both my elementalist and my warrior traits that attack at the
end of a dodge (mostly for incentive to actually dodge more
often). Have you done much with traits yet? I like all the
strategy that goes into it, especially since you can tune your
trait and skill choices to complement each other whenever you're
out of combat.
Also, have you tried World Vs World yet? It's really fun, and
even if you're underleveled, you can make a big difference if
you join a big group (20-100 people with a good commander).
I'm not sure if you already know this, but as soon as you enter
WvW, there's a portal just south that takes you to Lion's Arch
free of charge. It's incredibly convenient.

You all have your good strategies, when I just take a good bow,
greatsword or just grab two swords and hack away at the enemy.

I've played around with traits a little bit... Only problem is,
I put the game down for a while and can't remember the traits I
was trying to build up anymore. XD
I've triiiiiiiiieeeeed a little WvW... Yeah, not so much. I can
stealth, yes, I can set traps, yes... But otherwise I'm not very
good in PvP. XD Although, part of it is probably that I don't
have much PvP experience, either. XD
Zen: XD love that. Hehe that used to be me. Not even, really. I
JUST got over my faceroll habits about a year ago... XD Don't
make fun. I was just a little girl, lost in the mind-blowing
world of video games... (Still not completely out of my newb
stage, so you're ahead of me. XD)XD
Anyone play/have played other MMORPGs? I played Star Wars:
[Something about a republic], LOTRO, Rift, WOW... Prolly others
too, I just don't remember them... XD LOL Right now, GW2 is
definitely the best. :D

I've played a few MMOs. I played WoW for a few years (did
dungeons and raids as a Lv85 Tauren Shaman) but the guild work
became too repetitive and stressful so I stopped. I've also
played Realm of the Mad God (a fast-paced MMO shooter) and made
a bit of progress in Dragon Nest (that free MMO on
Steam--reached level 30 or something).
I love Guild Wars 2 because of its combination of action and
strategy. Has anyone tried Jumping Puzzles? They're really hard
(like vistas, but about 10x bigger) but each one gives a chest
and 10 achievement points.
I'll definitely level up my Thief more, but probably only when I
get a bigger bank, which is pretty packed right now. I need 600
gems for the expansion, and even if I buy low, that's about 24
gold. I've racked up 280 or so, but it's still a long way to go.
Oh, that reminds me--how are you all doing with crafting?
