MIT Splash

Has anyone been to MIT Splash? I just came back from my first
trip there, and it was incredibly interesting. They offer a
weekend of short classes taught by MIT students, and there are
hundreds to choose from, whether it's building a board game or
learning topology or complaining about programming languages or
philosophizing about Tolkien. You can learn about it at
esp.mit.edu--I think over 1000 people participated this year,
and I can definitely see why.
Here are a few things I learned:
[li]The Riemann Hypothesis is weird.[/li]
[li]Discrete Calculus is actually easier than normal
calculus.[/li]
[li]It is possible to build a board game in under an hour.[/li]
[li]There exists a collaborative game in which smarter players
perform worse, and where handicapping yourself makes both
players perform better.[/li]
[li]Bash programmers are epic pranksters.[/li]
[li]Every algorithm which can possibly be performed by a
computer can also be represented in the solutions of some
polynomial.[/li]
[li]One of the most difficult challenges in video game design is
texturing, especially when models are made of millions of
polygons which have to be unfolded and colored somehow.[/li]
[li]I am terrible at navigating college campuses.[/li]
[li]And more, which I probably don't know well enough to
explain.[/li]
Oh. *facepalm* Well, I am definitely never going to it, then.

I went there from Texas, but only because a bunch of people from
my school were going, and some of my extended family lives near
there. I think it was worth it, though.
