The Declaration of Onyx the Fortuitous, Slayer of the Bright Rea

It's like a paradime shift, you know? Maybe we're not in Los
Angeles at all, maybe we're in new tristem or maybe we're in
calendor, maybe you're not a pretty girl talking to me and
making me nervous with her witch doctor eyes and red raven's
mane. Maybe you're a pandorin princess, asking me to retire with
her to the veil of eternal blossoms and if I could only get the
guts to say yes, I'd experience what it's like to be inside a
union where for once trust is given and trust is returned. Where
nothing can be broken, where nothing can be taken without first
being given, before the nightshade comes and takes us all back
to the black and filthy muck and mire. Where death lives, and
       beauty doesn't stand a chance..I don't know...Watch Dogs looked
       pretty cool.

Well, I looked up the video. Paradigm shifts are nice.

I just noticed your signature widm. You nailed the best quote
from Kino's Journey. I have a friend who's using it on his
       yearbook page.

It is the most iconic quote after all. I think I've been using
that quote in a signature somewhere for years now.
The world is both surreal and ordinary.

I always thought of it as more of a perfection/imperfection sort
of deal, which I understood through drawing. To me, it's more
interesting to draw ugly things because there is only one ideal,
but infinite flawed possibilities. I think the infinite options
are more beautiful than the single optimal choice i guess.

I personally view it as a matter of perfection being too
perfect. If the world is entirely beautiful, there would be
nothing to contrast it from the norm for beauty would be the
norm. The opposite's existence helps add to the value of the
       subject's qualities.
Without the the blemishes, there is no beauty.
This doesn't really apply to love/hate and apathy as much. Well,
I guess without apathy, there would be less of a neutral feeling
and you would be much more opinionated about every subject
       matter.

Oh, I see. I think we can both agree that a perfect world would
       be pretty horrible though.

Well, everyone has a different perception of a perfect world. My
version of a perfect world is definitely not a place I would
       like.
I picture a world with a lack of diversity. All the humans would
be the clones of two perfect beings. The landscape would be
changed so that it is perfect, just like all of the
surroundings. Personality, performance, and behavior would all
have to be fine tuned to be within a very specific range. All
imperfections must be terminated. Everything is equal,
everything is the same. Everything is part of a methodical
clockwork system with an autocorrect function that ticks for an
       eternity.
I perceive the concept of a dystopia and the concept of an
utopia to be pretty much the same thing. Perfection is boring.
I quite like the translated version of the Kino no Tabi volumes.
