Out From Eden

[move]ATTENTION ALL FORUM MEMBERS!
[/move]
Me and two of my in real life friends are getting ready to make
a video game. We need somebody to help us make nicely
photoshopped cutscenes. The game would most likely be coded in
java and flash animated, but would require a large number of
stills because it's heavily story based.
If we complete it, it will be published through kongregate.com
probably as a flash game.
We need somebody pretty talented and/or familiar with the
program. Knowledge of flash animation is also a plus. You
would be rewarded with a cut of the money we receive, since it's
a collaborative effort.
We don't want sketch artists, unless you also have a knowledge
of photoshop or something similar, in which case artistic talent
is a plus.
The super condensed summery of the story: A village paradise is
torn apart by internal division when the ignorant and innocent
villagers acquire a book with infinite pages and all the
knowledge in the world. One villager attempts to prevent it
from crumbling, but the major events are told from the
perspective of 4 other villagers.
Anyways, let me know if you're interested! Post some of your
work in the comments below. Lilium put a good word in for
elephants4ever, so I want to see what she's able to do in
particular, if she's interested.

Seems interesting. ^^ And I'm very flattered, though I'm not too
great at this kind of stuff. I can certainly try, though. ^^
What kind of cutscenes are you thinking of? Pictures of real
people/colored sketches/anime/other cartoonish things, etc?

We're definitely down for anime/cartoony styles. The plan,
naturally, is to have a detailed design for cut scenes, with a
more simplistic character design for the gameplay. If you can,
I'd like to see an urban background and a scene with a character
or two of your own invention. I can sketch decently, so if you
have no irl artistic ability I'll be able to provide at least
the source material, but for now you can use online sources for
characters if you wish.
Nothing from the chibi site. Very sorry.
I really want to see what you can do though!

Nope, sorry. ^^' I've designed some of the other ones I've used,
though. Anyways, I can try, but my ability is limited to GIMP
and Powerpoint (which I use surprisingly much and is actually
very good for creating cartoon graphics).
I shall attempt this. But I can guarantee nothing. DX

Oh! By the way, what pixel dimensions would that be?

Java? It was the first language I learned, but I focus more on
Python on C++ now. Although I could probably pick it up quick
again. (Wait. You're not looking for a programmer. Right.)
As for animation, I'm currently sticking with 3D animation. But
if you can't find anyone (though Ele4 is probably fine), I know
someone who's pretty good at drawing and animation and would
probably love to help.
What about music and sound effects?

Seeing as this may be a pretty big project, I'll sticky this for
a while.

We already have both an experienced coder and a musician (a link
to his youtube page, like, favorite and subscribe
www.youtube.com/user/Legionnseven
HTML http://www.youtube.com/user/Legionnseven).
Due to the planned
design of the game, the majority of the work will fall on the
people creating the art and story elements of it. It's going to
be a limited type of choose your own adventure, with a planned
pool of events and certain variables that will cause each one to
happen based on what information you collect.
And as for pixel dimensions, 1200x700 is a good base, but don't
feel limited by it. I'm more interested in getting an idea of
your ability.

Well, I've done the urban one. I'll attach it, though I had to
reduce the size to upload it... I'll have to get back to you on
the other. It's my dad's birthday, plus I need to practice for
colorguard [s](and maybe violin if I have time... Nope, that's
not going to happen. DX)
