Cry of the Ouroboros

Game title subject to change.
This is my main project I'm working on right now. I only have
the first two levels completed so I can't show you much, but
here are some screenshots for you.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what I have so far.
EDIT: Just completed level 3, and here is the highlight of the
level as well as a second screenshot for level 2! I'm also
working on the title screen with GIMP. I'm making it entirely
from scratch.

As you can most likely see, the message is in Latin. However, I
don't know much about writing Latin, so this is probably pretty
bad. Feel free to guess what it says, but DO NOT use Google
Translate. It will be wrong.
New screenshot alert!

Thanks! I've completed level 4, but there isn't much to show on
that level, as it's mainly text boxes. I'm also nearly done with
the title screen line art, I just need to fix some stuff up and
color it and add the background. I had just started working on
level 5 the last time I was on GSM.

This looks really good! :D
Oh, and something's wrong with the last screenshot, I can't see
it. D:

This looks like a great game! I'll definitely play it once it's
finished. The gameplay looks good, the story is interesting and
the visuals look great!
I tried translating the Latin you used--is this accurate?
"I seek the Ouroboros, having been put to sleep.
I place the poisoned thing by the serpent, I draw out its Chaos.
I want the one and I awaken him."
You put together the passage very well--it definitely sounds
like ancient text. Just for fun, I tried translating it into
poetry (elegiac couplet). I had to change some of the words to
fit all the rules, but this is what I came up with:
ouroboros sopitam spero, Serpente venenum addo,
excipio eius ita Chaos egeo eum calo.
A couple of the syllables are ellisions: venenum addo is
pronounced "venenaddo," excipio eius is "excipieius," and egeo
eum is "egeum," I think. In total, it would sound like this:
OU-ro-bo/ROS so-pi/TAM spe-ro/SER-PEN/TE ven-en/AD-do
EX-ci-pi/EI-us i/TA // CHA-os eg/E-um ca/LO.
This probably isn't the best translation, but I think it works.
There's a small error in the second line (a short syllable
before a consonant blend) but I can't find a way around it.
Once again, great game--I'll be looking for it!

@Lilium: Glad to hear you like it! Also, for the image issue, I
can see it on my computer using Firefox, so maybe changing
browsers will help. It's a large image, so that's probably why.
I'll break it down into separate parts when I get the chance.
@Omni_Builder: The Latin isn't quite what I was going for,
though it's probably my fault, not yours. This is the first time
I've tried translating something into Latin, so I shall try
again to see if i can get it right. I'm also going to change up
the wording to make it sound better. :P I do like the sound of
what you have though, it sound much cooler than what it is
actually intended to say. If you don't mind, I would like to use
it in a sequel should I ever make one. That's kind of how my
mind works: I can't even finish one idea before starting the
next.
I updated the original post with another screenshot as well, on
this level you
control the Ouroboros.
Edit: Okay, I changed both the English and Latin phrase around
though it holds (or at least should hold) a similar meaning to
what I originally intended for it to have. Here is what it says
in English:
The Ouroboros sleeps, anticipating.
Chaos prepares for and expects the return of the poisoned
serpent.
One will revive him.
In Latin, it should be (assuming I got this correct):
Ouroboros praesumit dormierit.
Revertetur de serpente toxicatus Chaos praeparat ob et expectat.
Unum volo revivisco eo.
If any of you have experience with writing in Latin, help would
be appreciated!

I wish I knew Latin, but our stupid school doesn't have any
classes -_- So whenever I need to use it, I have to use
Translate (sadly).

Finally, I've come back and worked on this. The majority of the
game is different. I'm also going to draw each one of the
backgrounds myself, so hurrah for custom backgrounds. Here are
some screenshots of the first 6 levels.

The backgrounds are placeholders. They're a lot easier on my
eyes than having no background.
Update: Level 7 is complete, and here is the obligatory
screenshot.
