       Poetry Contest

       POETRY CONTEST! I love poetry. I want to see who can make the
       best poem. It can be a haiku, or just a regular poem. Any type
       of poem.
       Example of a haiku I think is funny:
       Haikus are easy.
       But sometimes they don't make sense.
       Refrigerator.

       Presenting the worst haiku in the world:
       A good haiku ne-
       -ver splices words across lines,
       or miscounts syllables.
       Also, an obscure-pun-turned-haiku:
       M. T. Cicero:
       "O tempura! O morays!"
       (Ordering seafood)

       whoopee here's a poem about the Holocaust:
       I am Alive
       the screams
       the hauntings
       the life I tried
       so hard to leave
       the pain
       the wantings
       the people I tried
       not to grieve
       it’s all coming
       back to me
       everything
       that happened
       that hellish life
       those hellish days
       when I was lucky
       to escape.
       verboten
       forbidden
       my life before
       that futile war
       the authorities
       came back for me
       the Aryans
       and the shotguns
       we were
       untermenschen
       not worth the mention
       but I survived
       I got through
       and I am alive.

       We had to do a poetry project for English once--5 metaphor
       poems, 3 limericks, and about 10 other (long) poems.
