Collaboration, Anyone?
By: Elephants4Ever Date: February 10, 2014, 2:14 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Anyone up for a collaboration? I've never
done one before. It seems interesting. If you wanna do one too,
speak up. Then we can discuss the story/gameplay/backgrounds.
Also, collaboration games that you have to search all over
gamestar for the next one seem a little discouraging. I have a
solution for that, but I'm feeling too lazy to type it out right
now if no one responds. XD

Kewl. Any ideas for story? Also, do you want
to hear my idea for not having to search all over GSM for the
next game?

Sure.
Idea for a story... I can get one pretty soon. Do you have like
a basic summary?

I've got nothing specific in mind at the
moment. Give me a little while and I can have a bunch of story
ideas. Hey, maybe we could each come up with a few and then
vote...? :)

Oh, and I was thinking, for the solution, we
could just post the levels and then give each other the level
maps, level settings, text, and BGs, then recreate the different
levels onto one or two games so the player can play the whole
thing at once. It would take a little while, but I think the
result would be more satisfactory. :)

So...
One is about a girl who basically lived her whole life inside a
simulation, like she was part of an experiment to see whether
given proper sustenance, the human body can survive on the mind
itself, and she woke up even though she wasn't supposed to (it's
kinda complicated)...
And then another involves traveling through dimensions (like you
know the concept I introduced in Deathly Faeries about how there
are multiple layers?). So this girl is running away from
something in her world, and she runs until she collapses. Then
she's found by people in another dimension, where when she wakes
up, she's told it was all a dream. And that's what the people
there do--they brainwash people so that they think their life
was just a bad dream and they work for them (again, a little
complicated).
A third is about the leader of this resistance against a
totalitarian government who loses her memory when she's being
rescued from her execution, and basically it's about how it goes
since she doesn't remember anything.
These also happen to be stories that I'm writing, and I've got
the prologue of the second one written and the prologue and
first chapter of the third one written if you want to basically
see how it goes.

Very nice. :) I like the first and last ones best.
Inter-dimensional travel has never been a favorite of mine...
although I have to make an exception for your game because, let
me just say, you did that extraordinarily well. :) Funny
thing... Most of my games are inspired by the sprites
themselves... (I'm not kidding...)
But, there is one story I've been meaning to write for a while
that could be made into a game... It's about a mute thief girl
whose father is the head of a guild of thieves. He makes her go
out every night and steal certain things. She wants to run away,
but because of the number of things she's stolen and the large
price on her head, she's sure the police would find her if she
did. And, if not the police, then one of her father's thieves.
Let's wait for greensalmon to suggest a couple ideas (I don't
know about you, but I have so much more fun when there are tons
of ideas to chose from) and then we should vote. :D
