       Calling all Mac Users
By: jamesgames Date: July 17, 2015, 1:58 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I've recently transitioned to a Mac, and I've failed to find
       successful programs for the following:
       1. AdBlocker
I've been trying to find an extension on Chrome that blocks ads,
and I have failed on every try. I've tried AdBlock Pro and
multiple AdBlock Plus's, and they didn't work. Is there any
Chrome/Firefox/Safari extension that actually blocks ads?
       2. Screen recorder
Something that records the screen. Hypercam 2 won't download,
and QuickTime is way too simple. All it lets you do is record
       and stop recording.
       I'd prefer the following features:
-Ability to select the screen recording region
-Ability to pause/resume the recording during session
       -Ability to start/stop the recording
-Ability to block out background noises/only record noises on
       the computer
-Ability to view video during/after the recording session
-Ability to move screen around during recording session
-Ability to resize screen recording region during recording
       session
-Ability to resize screen recording region before/after
       recording session
-Ability to draw on screen during and after recording session
-Plus any helpful features, or any features on a good screen
       recorder
This list may be extended in the coming future.
       3. Video editor
This allows you to edit videos. I'd prefer it to have the
features in EzVid/Corel Video Studio X8. Preferably something
       quick and easy to learn.
       4. Proxy/VPN
This hides your IP/changes your IP every few minutes. I'd prefer
for it to be a Chrome/Firefox/Safari extension and for it to be
free; at least something that'll work until a better proxy/VPN
       is found.
Thanks for reading! Post in this thread if you know any programs
on the list that work on Mac.

There's an adblocker extension for Chrome. I had issues where it
said I didn't have the latest version of Chrome to go to the web
store, so i redownloaded it entirely. It seemed to work then,
and I could download an adblock extension.
I'm not familiar with many video editors, but I know iMovie is a
thing. Dunno if it's to your liking though.

Yeah, there is iMovie. Also, I did see a screen recording
software somewhere that might work for you, but I have forgotten
the name. I suggest searching the app store to see if you find
       something you like.

-Ability to select the screen recording region
-Ability to pause/resume the recording during session
       -Ability to start/stop the recording
-Ability to move screen around during recording session
Quick Time Player has that included, you only need to know well
how to use it ;). With some further video editing it should be
       ok.
I've heard of something calles sunflower, but idk if it is a
       malware or something like that.
Also you have this application called bootcamp which if you
activate, it lets you switch between mac and windows.
       Hope it helps!

Easy and powerful usually have satisfying outcomes.

I have a Mac and Adblock Plus works fine for me... maybe root
around in your settings or something to see if something has
disabled it? Keep in mind that by default, it doesn't block a
       small set of unobtrusive ads.

how to use it ;). With some further video editing it should be
ok. When I opened Quick Time, it could only record and stop
recording.First find it and click QTP, then it will pop up in
the apps bar you have below, in there keep pressing until some
options pop up. There you have movie, audio and screen
recording, if you click them you'll open them. What you want to
use is screen recording, you'll see an arrow at the side of the
red button, it's pointing below. Click on it and it'll pop up
some options, maybe they're useful for you. OptionA) if you
click the red button you can then click to record fullscreen (or
-Ability to select the screen recording region) like if you
would be making a screen capture from selecting regions. OptionB
Use the controls above where it says QuickTime Player, click any
except the , there you can export, import, open multiple
recordings, clip alignment (not sure what this is, if you're
curious I'd recommend you to fin it on youtube :'P), float on
top (not sure either), show inspector, etc... To stop the
recording click the square button above on the right close to
       the date.
I've heard of something calles sunflower, but idk if it is a
malware or something like that. Which one is Sunflower?
Proxy/VPN?Sorry, it was called soundflower, it is to record
audio from your mac and no external audio (applications audio)
Also you have this application called bootcamp which if you
activate, it lets you switch between mac and windows. Where can
I find it? I've looked through the Finder and nothing comes up.
In your keyboard you have an icon which has some six squares, in
mine it is f4, it opens more applications, then click the other
folder and you will find BootCamp Assistant
       Hope it helps!

Oh, I found something way better.
       Download this: www.monosnap.com
       Download this: code.google.com/p/soundflower
       Watch this installation tutorial:
  HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vWfALWwxvM
Then in the MIDI setup put back again the built-in stuff as how
it was at the beginning built-in microphone as use this device
for input and the built-in output as use this device for output.
Click on the monosnap icon in the menu bar (above) > Record
Video > Settings > check the last two options (first one is
optional) set the first one as built in microphone and the
       second one as soundflower(2ch).
And there you go! Quality recording!
       :'D
(Checked it myself, it is actually really good and no viruses.
If it messes up with your computer, then delete it and
re-install it, this is because it deals with kernel and kernel
       is a bit 'fragile'.)
       Hope it helps! :'D
