Modern Warfare 3: Play test & initial impressions. Discuss:
By: moobit Date: September 22, 2011, 4:42 pm

       Modern Warare 3 initial impressions:
After a hard days Vlogging and multiple meetings all day, this
is only one of two Ames I physically got the PLAY myself today,
       LOL.
I of course got alot of video footage of games and sands etc,
but mainly of another GD playing!
I'm sure Gemmell and the rest if te COD fans want to know what
we thought, so here it is...
After playing BLOPs for a year... Wow! What a difference! Both
in terms of graphically amd in it's "fe" this is worlds apart
       from Treyarch's Black Ops...
Now, this game is getting mixed reviews online from the COD
fanboys amd I can see why people on a certain camp my object...
This is NOT a return to the firat Modern Warfare. In terms of
gameplay, this plays and feels almost exactly the same as MW2,
but "tighter", amd a little more refined.
Now for me-this is a good thing as I really loved MW2-it offered
an "arcade" style experice that my retro roots craved. For those
that prefer a more team based, tactical game, Battlefield3 is
the way to go (review on that incoming on Sunday), but in my
humble opinion, there is room in your lives for both games as
they play so differently in themselves.
Graphically, the MW2 engine seems to have been tweaked a little
as the graphics were alot more detailed, amd the colours alot
more pronounced and crisper.I think the PR for the game has
purposely "dialed down" the resolution on the online demos, as
when you see this in real life is LOOKS absolutely astounding!
Remember-the demos today were running on xboxes, so this wasn't
a high end PC trickery thing-it really looked that good!
Weather it was down to the fact that they were using the latest
Samsung displays (witch are the best on the Market by far from
my gadget show reviews), or the fact that it is so much more
colourful than BLOPs on comparrison remains to be seen, but to
this play tester, it looked fantastic-especially when raising
your gun to aim down sights...
We got to play a few rounds of 2player "spec ops horde mode"
whist attending. The game moved fluiy and was fast and
responcive. Very good for making assailants "SIT-DOWN!" ;)
A neat feature in this game type is the way you obtain your
weapons and killstreaks... You start with a pistol only with
limited ammo amd a few frag grenades, and you got money for
killing an AI. You have to use this money to by new wepons,
ammo, Frags, and killstreaks from laptops dotted equally around
       the map.
The laptops are marked as "heads-up" arrows o. Your screen to
guide you to their location. A GUN symbol for the wepons drop, a
NADE for the specials drop (Frags, concussions, claymores etc),
       and a PLANE for killstreaks.
You can buy any killstreak or wepon you want, but better ones
are obviously more expensive, meaning you have to kill a few
waves of enemies before you can afford them...
Streaks include the usual from MW2, along with Dogs, and a new
one we tried-Special Forces (?). When activated, this killstreak
make a chopper appear that drops 6(I think) AI freindlies that
follow you round and take on the enemy. Nice addition! :)
All in all-great insight into the game. More of the same re
MW2&3 but with better graphics, responsiveness tweaks and some
       new killstreaks...
Sorry for any inaccurate detail-I'm on a coach and very tired!
       ;)
       Moobit out.

       Great write up moobit!
       Looking forward to it.
PS. No mention of any beds. Have these been omitted from MW3?
       ;-)

wow wow WOW! such comments will lead to one being tied up by
piano wire, much like what happened to trespassers in early
       1940's Germany.
CoD4 is king, that is "irrefutable factual evidence". MW2 was
ruined by the tripe included that allowed you to "earn" kills,
but as far as appearance and feel there was nothing wrong with
       it, in fact it's good.
sounds good, just hope the MP is balanced this time

I had a go and its hard to judge the game on one level of spec
ops. What pleased me most was that I played it on xbox and it
       felt....right ::)
