OnLive Remote Gaming?

"OnLive delivers high-end video games from the cloud to your PC,
Mac, TV and even mobile devices at blindingly fast speeds, so
you can play the games you want, the second you want them. No
discs. No downloads. No fancy hardware. Just you, the Internet
and the games you love."
Sounds interesting! Has anyone tried this yet? The obvious
concern is whether our internet connectivity can cope with this
type of game delivery (where the game runs on remote servers and
only the screen content and control inputs are transferred over
your connection). There is a Dirt3 demo so I will try this asap,
maybe even on my lappy which wouldn't otherwise be able to cope.
Take a look at www.onlive.com. ;D

The do have a mini-console thingy, but it's just a device to
stream the image feed and control inputs back to the servers.
The alternative is that you install some software on your pc or
lappy (or later, ipad), connect a controller and away you go!
It says there are games available now but I can't seem to find a
download link!

That explains it! I'll certainly give it a try when it launches.

That's the idea. The quality of the image will be determined by
the quality of the connection (at both ends and in the middle)
so who knows how good it'll look on a big tv!

I haven't seen a list, but Dirt3 and Deus Ex are there, so I'm
guessing that it'll cope with most things.
