Upstairs bedroom console help

I want to get another console for upstairs but not sure whether
to get an additional XBOX or PS3 (have both downstairs).
I'm slightly leaning towards ps3 as i don't really want to shell
out for XBOX LIVE GOLD twice every year.
Also games such as FIFA which require Online pass codes are
gonna be a problem i guess as they can only be registered to 1
console i suppose.
Actually i'm changing my mind as i write this , and thinking im
gonna have to carry on moving it from room to room and changing
settings from wired to wireless and visaversa .
I'm sure some of you have done or thought of doing this before ,
just wondering what else i need to consider and is it actually
worth the hassle/money :-\

Games like fifa stay on your psn id mate so if you stick your
psn account on the one downstairs and on the one upstairs you
wont need to buy two passes. i have 3 ps3s 1 in livingroom and
one each in bedrooms and my online pass works on all of them.
dunno how xbox live works with gtags tho .

Cheers phit , i wasn't aware you could do that , cool , so i
guess that applies to DLC too if i was too put in my ITFCdan
account details on the 2nd console.

I have a second PS3 in the bedroom. Choice was made mostly for
ease of watching stuff on it and I've put plenty of series like
Dexter to watch whenever I'm kicked out of main room.
PS+ is a brilliant thing to have when you have more than one
console as well. Auto saving game data to the cloud really comes
in handy for the odd time I go and play games on it. Granted the
save might be a day or two old but usually good enough to have
online gun setups up to date.

Same with xbox i think. Just keep your dlc and profile on a usb
stick and move it back and forth. No need for two lots of xbox
live as far as I'm aware!
