A Question for those who pre-order....

I wanna get my hands on FIFA 12 as early as possible, so I was
going to pre-order it from ShopTo or Amazon or whoever to try
and receive my pre-order a few days before release.
My question is, for those who do this fairly regularly, and
regularly receive their pre-orders before the official release
date, what option do you choose for delivery? Standard or
Express.
The reason I ask is, I dont wanna pay the extra for express, if
that means they then send it out on the thursday on a 24hr
express service, for delivery on the friday release morning. I'm
assuming that you guys choose standard and these places post it
really early to make sure it definitely gets there on time,
meaning if the post office is doing it's job, it actually
arrives early type thing.
Just wanted a bit of confirmation on what you guys choose?

I've never paid extra for postage. Like you say, if you pay for
24hr post there's a good chance they'll wait until Thursday to
send it out.
I've not used them myself, but ShopTo seem to send many of
theirs out on a Tuesday. Last week I saw plenty of people on my
twitter receiving Deus Ex on Wednesday from them.

Might order FIFA on friday then before I disappear on Saturday.

The problem with ordering from shopto is that they prioritize
who ordered first and if they dont get round to sending them all
out on the same day then you might be waiting a little longer
than other people who preordered before you. Sometimes this
doesnt work out too.
I had this problem with F1 2010. Everyone I know who ordered it
from shopto got a email saying they have sent out there copies
but on mine, I didnt get the email by the end of that day and I
preordered mine as soon as shopto had it up. I canceled my order
in the end and bought it early from a shop that was near me.

Unfortunately no store around here breaks street dates. I can
always order it from ShopTo or Amazon and hope it comes early,
if it comes on release day, fair enough.

I`ve used loads of on-line retailers for pre orders and it can
be a bit or miss for me but with Amazon if you take the free
option they don`t ship till the games release date Zavvi have
have probably been the best ( I`ve had games in hand on the
Tuesday when it doesn`t come out till the Friday and in the case
of Motostorm Apoc had weeks before )but on the other hand
they`ve been the worst ( Games out on Friday and it`s the
following Monday it`s still not been posted) I think its just
pot luck.
I don`t really remember Game or Play not getting a game to me on
release date.

Ok guys cheers for the feedback.
I'll perhaps order it from ShopTo, or maybe even GAME's website,
and if it isn't here by the actual release date at the latest
I'll buy it in store, and send back the other copy when it
arrives.
