I've never played DE at all so have no idea whether to give it a
try. It always comes down to MP for me, so what's that side of
it like?

There isn't any.
It's a single player story driven 'epic'.
There is absolutely no need or want for multiplayer in the Mass
Effect series.

Oh well. Not one for me then. I only usually complete the SP as
a sort of tutorial for MP, which is where the game longevity is.

Never played the first one but the second one came in handy
through PSN downtime. Brilliant game, with replay value that I
sadly didn't get to take advantage of.
I will pick this up, but as it's a game that will take me a long
time to complete, I will be waiting for a big price drop.

These are a FPS/RPG, they aren't short on longevity and are both
around 50 odd hours (give or take depending how you play them)
:)
ME 2 is slightly shorter if I remember right but I squeezed 73
hours 43 minutes (yes I just had to check on my save lol) out of
it and all the side quests ;)

@Pyscho, I was like you about the multiplayer. But you honestly
dont need it with this series. It is supported by so much DLC,
much like the Dragon Age series. Also you will want to do
multiple run throughs as there is so much to see, what with
there being about 8 different party members, you will have to
play it more than once to see their paths. What with there
being three different classes, then three different sub-classes
you will have alot to do.

I really should try more games, but whenever I do, the SP always
seems like a chore that I race through. Killing AI opponents
just doesnt cut it for me, I need REAL FLESH! Lol. And I dont
have that much spare time for gaming so when I do have some
time, I would never choose SP over MP when there are GDs to play
with/slaughter. ;)
