Older Games for the Older Players

As my forum signature yells to whoever cares to hear it. "Great
games don't die, they just get cheaper". And I honestly believe
that......except for when they die.
Probably just to spite me.
Would anyone be interested in getting some games going with
older games. The ones that can be picked up for a fiver or
you've had gathering dust for a couple of years, or even (and
you know who you are) games you'd like to whore the last few
points off but can't find people to play against.
I'll give you a few examples from my collection.
Timeshift
Lost Planet 2
Bionic Commando (believe it or not this had/has a multiplayer.
Who knew,right?)
[b]Quake 4
There are loads of games that can be picked up for pocket change
that still have playability, just no players.
Rainbow 6 Vegas (regularly available for £1.99 and terrorist
hunt is still fun)
FEAR/ FEAR 2
Gears of War
GRAW 2
Can you think of any?
If you can, write them down. If others don't have it we'll look
for links selling them cheap.
And not just for whoring purposes either. If you genuinely wish
you could still get a game of Frontlines or Quake Wars, there's
absolutely no reason why that shouldn't be possible.
It's one of the great things about having your own community,
don't you think?
could someone tell me why stuff I haven't marked for bold is in

GRAW 2 and R6V2 were my first games that really got me into
online so will always have a special place in my heart . I have
also been looking at picking them up again but not seen anyone
playing them .
This is a great little thread to get going and must admit
Terrorist Hunt was awesome , for those who dont know what it is
imagine Hoarde from GoW and you will get the idea .
Also in R6V2 i always remember the Casino level on MP was so
good using your zip wire from the roof into the main room with
bullets and nades flying everywhere .
GRAW2 for me was always co-op missions i played them so much you
would know where the enemy would be coming from but with limited
respawns its was always a laugh .
We would also have mad MP nights using different weapons I.E
just nades , rocket launchers , hand guns etc
My only concern for the " older " games is how long the servers
will be running for but if its cheap then worth a punt . I will
have to go " Retro " game hunting and will post up my finds .

Think you all know what game I'm going to mention....Forza 2!
The graphics aren't as good Forza 3 (obviously), but the
gameplay is good (better than Forza 3 imo), and there is still a
lot of people playing it online.
PGR 4 is another good one, and can be picked up for next to
nothing. Online is still going strong too.

Yes, I'm somewhat biased though as it ticks all my "yes" boxes.
3rd person
Implausible storyline
Hero with random powers
Over-sized enemies
I bought it in-store from Gamestation for £5 and though I've
completed it before on other profiles I've never managed to get
a single game online.
It has to be fun, right? CTF with everyone swinging from the
scenery

want we can all download it and give it a whirl.

The servers shutting down only applies to EA games or anyone
else who uses dedicated servers.
For example, if we wanted to play Army of 2 we'd have about 10
days left. LotR: Conquest we'd be completely out of luck.
But we could play R6V 1/2 or CoD 2/3 no problem because those
hosts aren't dedicated

SHADOWRUN
Great game just unfortunate that the team behind it shut up shop
not long after release...

As a player of the Shadowrun RPG (paper and pencil variety) I
was massively disappointed by this game. I was expecting
something along the lines of Fallout 3 and ended up with a
gimmicky FPS.

I wouldn't call it gimmicky. It was more like Rock, Paper,
Scissors or Battle Beasts. Each class cancelling out the
advantages of the others. That being said Elves with katanas,
teleport and gliders WERE awfully popular.
Random fact about SHADOWRUN, I quit smoking by lockin myself
inthe house for a week and playing this game.
