Gears of War 2 21 x XP

Only found out about this last night but running from 1st to the
5th of July it`s 21 x XP on GOW2 and there`s also going to be
community nights with prizes running every week till the release
of GOW3.

Had my first 5 minutes online with this today and got mauled.
Any tips for getting into this best game modes to start etc.

Horde is what I normally play and its wave after wave of locust.
I`m not that good at it but if you do the river map you should
be able to hold up in one of the buildings at the bridge and
theres an ammo creat nearby as well so you should get a few
levels done even with just one or two players.

Horde's fun but it won't teach you how humans play. I suggest
the modes with respawns. Annex, Submission, King of the Hill.
Otherwise you're gonna spend a LOT of time in "Spectator Mode"
till you get the swing.I'd recommend plenty of communication but
you'd be talking to yourself for the most part. Perfect the
timing on your active reloads and lancer the crap out of the
other team.
Gears 2 is frustrating as hell when you lose, and great when
you're winning. There's no middle ground whatsoever.
