Re: Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3 (or both)?

I've never ever played Battlefield in my life but have seen its
made by EA & I love there army of two games so may have to jump
on this battlefield band wagon and nab it on release
day....especially considering how many people are bigging this
series up.
As for modern warfare been a huge fan of COD games ever since
the original modern warfare which I played the he'll out of &
tbh is the only other FPS series I've played religiously since
the days of RB6V.
However in my eyes cod4 is still by far there best game to date
& I can only hope that MW3 finally gives us what COD4 did. One
thing I must admit though is the last few titles I've found
myself start to play less & less online but that could be more
down to rhetorically fact of sick & tired of playing with kids &
that really annoying lot across the pond!!!
But now I've finally landed here I'm sure ill start to find my
love for the online side of things once again.

MW3 for me. I'll rent Battlefield at some point for the SP
campaign.
Pre-ordered the Hardened Edition yesterday from Blockbuster,
thanks to a tip off from gemmell. Cost £64.99 instead of the
£89.99 it seems to be everywhere else (you get £23.00 of rentals
free too).
Hardened Edition contains loads of stuff including: the game
(obviously), some artwork and a 12 month subscription to the
Elite service which includes all future DLC (map packs and
Special Ops maps and more) free of charge and available prior to
being released on the store. You keep all downloads after your
subscription has ended.
I was just going to get the standard edition but this is too
good an offer to miss IMO :)

I can't see a vote on this one so far (feel free to correct me
:D).
Which of the AAA shooters are you going to buy 1st?
I've pre-ordered Battlefield 3 from ShopTo, and I'm going to
wait a good while before picking up Modern Warfare 3.
So, over to you guys.

Most likely same as you. BF3 is a must have and more my type of
shooter. Not been a COD/Activision fan this gen since they think
they can take us all for mugs year after year with yearly
updates.
BLOPS is the only COD game I own and that was only because I'm
interested in the Vietnam war era and that alone sold it to me
;)
I might buy MW3 later down the lane second hand, but it will
have no plave while BF3 is out, saying that I don't think any
other games will either ;D

I'm leaning more towards Battlefield 3.. Out of the two, it's
really the only one i've followed..
Battlefield is certainly a release pick up for me. I've always
enjoyed the SP of the battlefield series, and for me the MP has
just dominated CoD.
I'll probably still pick up MW3 at some point down the line.. or
maybe ask the wife for it for xmas..

I couldn't remember what and whether I'd pre-ordered but it
seems that I've had BF3 on order since February! Fanboy, me? I
don't have MW3 on order but I will get it, it just won't have
anywhere near the longevity of BF3.

That's the problem with CoD, it doesn't have the longevity that
the BF series has, in my opinion anyway. I get bored with any
CoD game after about a month. Don't own any CoD games at all
now.

I've kept all of 'em since cod3 and can't get rid of them for
some reason. Nostalgia I suppose as cod is what got me onto the
xbox, watching my nephew play cod4. So I will play mw3, but from
an excitement point of view, mw3 now gets a "meh" whereas bf3
gets a physical reaction! :-[

I'll probably purchase MW and MW2 again, at some point. I bought
all the maps for them ::)
