Survey Responses
By: GamerDad Date: May 28, 2011, 6:55 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Here are the results of the survey we did a few weeks back:
How did you hear about GamerDads?
Pleasingly 39.5% heard of us through word of mouth showing the
good word is being spread
31.6% heard of us via twitter
28.9% found us via an internet engine search
Disapointingly no one found us via facebook
Action: We will be looking at our facebook page and making
improvements shortly to make it better intergrated with the
site. Other results are pleasing
How often do you visit GamerDads?
A wapping 71.1% of you visit every day
18.4% every now and again
2.6% once a week
2.6% once a month
5.3% hardly ever
Action: We will be targeting members who do not visit often and
addressing why they are not returning
Please Tick the following parts of GamerDads you are aware of?
Newsletter 77.6%
GDTV and vid on demand 77.8%
GamerDads Blog 86.1%
Ambassadors 69.4%
Photo Gallery 52.8%
The Arcade 50%
Action: Some concerns that not everyone knows what GDs has to
offer. We are currently working on a big project to address this
issue
Do you think the forum is moderated well?
Pleasingly everybody who took the survey thought the forum was
moderated well!!!!
Action: None
The forum as it is will always remain free, however would you
like to see a subscription service giving discounts, exclusive
GDs content etc..?
76.3% would not like to see this happen.
Action: Something that needs reviewing as we need to find a way
to generate some revenue for ongoing growth. Even with a
subscription service the current content would not change.
Some answers to what you would like to see in a subscription
service included discounts on games or services, early access to
podcasts and competitions to win prizes. All of which are do
able
What improvements would you like to see on GamerDads?
Answers ranged from better forum to Jay Eff made King!!
Action: All answers will be reviewed and addressed
Do you find the forum easy to use and well layed out?
83.8% of you liked the forum as it is meaning 16.2% dont
Action: We are currently working on making the forum a lot
easier to use and with GDs signage. The main complaint was that
the forum is very busy and cluttered. Again we are looking at
ways to improve this
A massive thank you to all who took the survey and giving us
some very useful info. I can tell you it has been looked at and
we are reacting to your answers. Watch this space :D

my survey responses were very positive on the forum/GamerDads on
the whole (if I was a little self-promotional ;) ) but one thing
I might add in is that since joining Twitter and following a lot
of the members, I find myself needing to come on the forum less
often now, as Twitter has sort of replaced it as my #1 source
for GDs info
maybe that's something else to consider?
and this contrasts with facebook which you say didn't help
anyone find us, but I would consider Twitter a very important
part of the GDs experience and anyone who doesn't have a Twit
account misses out somewhat

A very good point regarding Twitter my man.... I do admit that
the GDs feeds are the thing that keeps me most busy on a day to
day basis-Steve too!
Hopefully with the new project you shold see alot more
integration of the various arms of the GDs network which will
make a regular visit to the site itself very worthwhile... ;)
THANKYOU to all of you who filled out the survey...we've had
some great responces, praise and constructive feedback that we
can use to make YOUR Gamerdads experience all the better! ;)

The twitter thing is massive as far as i'm concerned, seeing as
most GD's stuff i find first on twitter anyway i.e organising a
few last minute games. For example when PSN was down we managed
to organise a few good Forza/GOW2 nights which i don't think
would have happened so quickly without it.
Love the way new forum topics are posted onto twitter straight
away as was unaware of this until i posted my 1st forum topic

Twitter is probably the best marketing tool any website can
have, provided it's used correctly.
Tweets about posts or game nights with links in can only help
bring people back to the site and hopefully get them responding.
It's good having threads to organise game nights, but I think
it's just as important that people come back afterwards and tell
you what they felt about it. Feedback helps make the nights suit
all taking part in them.
So going forward it would be nice if links could be posted
reminding people to comment on what they thought.
