Hi all,
Yeeeeees you read that correctly.... ;)
I've always had this idea for a project/youtube video(s) in the
back of my head, but have kept it on the back burner for a
while...
I used to be a singer/acoustic guitar player in my spare time
when I was a bit younger-Nowt major, just some solo accoustic
gigs, open mic nights, Regonal&National Karaoke competitions and
stuff... I did it for a laugh really... ;)
Anyway-I've been thinking of vid blogging myself re-learning to
play guitar after 4 years absence and posting the odd vid of me
doing acoustic covers of songs as suggested by comments, etc...
But then I also had the idea of asking YOU LOT if any of you
play an instrument/sing etc, if you want to do a
[shadow=red,left][glow=red,2,300]collabaritve music
video[/glow][/shadow] as a YouTube project!
You up for it?? ;D
The way I see it is this: someone makes a video of one part in
the song, for example, I could make one with me singing and
playing the rhythm guitar part of a song solo...
...I'd basically say to camera "3,2,1 (clap)" and then play...
This gets uploaded to a shared online harddrive for you lot to
download...
Another person, say a drummer films themselves playing along to
the first track (so they'd have it playing in their headphones,
say "3,2,1(clap)" to camera in time to first track, and then
play their drum part..)
Another person would have the first track on their headphones
and play along the lead guitar part...
And so on and so on....
All these get uploaded to the shared drive and I (or a volenteer
producer from the community) edits all the parts together into
one vid/MP3!
In theory, it should be quite easy, but I'd like to try it first
as an experiment and if it gets a good reception, it could be an
ongoing video project.
What do you guys think?

So... I need some volenteers and some song suggestions! :)
I'm gonna throw in anything by Oasis, Editors, Muse,
Steriophonics (first two albums), Travis, Snow Patrol...
(Just thinking of easy to play stuff with lots of parts and
relitivly melenconic...)
Got a few other ideas for individual songs by other artists too
(mainly stuff i can play already LMAO!) ;D

Some choir did this a while ago and it turned out quite
impressive. Should be a brilliant thing.
Sadly I don't have a musical note in my body so wouldn't be any
use for you.
Hope it works though, would love to see end product.

I taught myself guitar so im absolutely awful, can play piano a
little bit as well.

Dude-i'm not that good either... I taught myself too! Top class
talent won't have too much play in this really, just could be an
ongoing project where we can only improve! :)

Heya, I play a bit of bass, and have had a tiny bit of
experience with a band. So could possibly help out. Only
problem is, I dont have any idea how to upload any music :S
Second problem, I am preparing loads of exam classes at the
moment (school teacher), so dont have an awful lot of time for
the moment.

Thanks Jarv!
Nay probs on time-beauty of this idea is the claboration-you can
add to it whenever you have time.
In terms of uploading stuff-I'll make a quick vid of me doing it
and embed it here if you like (I can capture my computer
screen). Dropbox is easy-you can either click "upload" via it's
webpage, or can download a widget thing to you computer-all you
do is drag your file onto the dropbox symbol on your desktop! :)
