       Shift 2

Did anyone get this and what's your opinions of it?
I'm debating trading in Homefront (because it doesn't work) and
Crysis 2 (because it annoys the shit out of me) tomorrow and
       getting this.
Problem is, I've not heard anything good about the game when
using the wheel. It's classed as a sim racing game, which means
I would only ever use the wheel.

Get rid of Homefront while you still can! (if they fix it you`ll
be able to get it again cheaper ;))
Don`t know much about Shift 2 but I`ve had the advertising
e-mail which has big talk like "sets the bar for realistic
racing" and " groundbreaking true to life experience" which I
       very much doubt.
I know it`s a totaly different game but the first one the races
were super easy (except the drifting races which I just couldn`t
get a handle on) and I finished it owning just 3 cars. BMW 3
series, BMW 6 series and a Lambo and all you had to do was keep
upgrading them till they maxed out and you couldn`t lose. Wasn`t
the worst game I`ve ever played but far from the game they led
you to believe it was which would be a concern this time around
       for me.
As I say I`m basing my opinions on the first game and I probably
shouldn`t but just wanted to give you a heads up on what the
       first one was like.

If the wheel works with it, which I'm hearing it doesn't, then
it would be the online I was hoping would keep me going with it.
As good as GT5 is, I find the online a waste of space, apart
from private games like the fun night on here.

Cheers, will give those settings a go when I get my copy later.
Made my mind up to trade in Homefront and Crysis 2, so will have
spare cash as well to look at an older game maybe.

Not got this game, but from what a few friends have told me, and
the reviews I've read, it's not all that. Apparently the cars
still bounce around like they're on Space Hoppers, like they did
in the first one. Yeah the tracks are good, there's a great
choice of cars, and the tuning has been improved.
Bouncy cars?! I'll be giving it a miss.

I've only heard good things about the game, my concern was with
the wheel, because that's getting mixed reviews.
Decided to get it and play with controller if necessary.
Obviously I've promised Heat I will give the wheel a go though
       to see what it's like.

Had a good few hours on this now, mostly setting up my steering
wheel, which you can see more conclusion to

/>but I also managed to work out how good this game actually is.
It's easy to pick up a racer and well, race. This however
rewards not for just winning the race, but keeping the best
driving line, taking each corner in the best way possible and
even, dread to think it, having a clean lap. Yes that's right,
it expects you to not crash, how ridiculous is that? ;)
Anyway, you can easily progress your way through the career
without a care in the world about the above and just go for win
after win, but I'm telling you now, you will go back to race the
early events to master those corners and not have a little bump
and grind with your opponents. If you don't, you're not a racer!
Ok, handling isn't the best, but at the moment I'm finding that
a good thing. My last three racing games were Forza 3, Formula 1
and GT5, of which all 3 are very serious in their own ways. This
game allows enough handling to be a good racer, but enough
looseness to it that you can have fun with it.
I'd say more, but I want to go and get back on it!!
