       Developer:Eidetic
       Publisher:989 Studios
       Platforms:Playstation, PSN
       Release Date:17th feb 1999
You follow Gabe Logan and his mission is to find out and stop
the person that is planning to release a deadly virus over the
       third world...
I remember loading up the demo for Syphon Filter expecting to be
       very disappointed.
Coming out only a few months after MGS i had a lot of
       expectations for it.
On first look you realise its not the best looking game in the
world and gives MGS nothing to worry about in the looks
department but Syphon Filters not about the looks it wants to
give you a fast paced action game and this is what it achieves.
While the story is done with a blend of gameplay and cutscenes
it doesnt get bogged down with over lengthy cutscenes.
The gameplay puts you behind Gabe for a third person perspective
with mixes of gameplay that clones Goldeneye/MGS and throws in
abit of tomb raider and while not completely original, it does a
good job of copying others in its genre.
This series is in serious need of a next gen update and deserves
to be played by anyone after a decent action game.
The games not perfect tho by any means, while the Soundtrack
does well to deliver the intensity of the action, the voice
acting while decent in places has some moments of spoken
dialogue that are done poorly, also its not the longest game in
       the world.
But as an overall experience its not one to be missed...
       Overall:8
