Is it woth it getting an XBox as a PS3 owner?

This might seem like a silly question but as a PS3 owner almost
since the launch is it worth for me to get an XBox.
Thought i'd ask on here as i'm expecting more mature replys than
i'd get on other forums.
My son is wanting one and to be honest i can never get enough
techy things but i'm thinking this would be the ultimate waste
of money.
So if your an Xbox fan convince me orif you think otherwise
fair enough i'll stick with my PS3.

If you want to play the 360 exclusives then definetly however
the games I`m on about like Gears, Left For Dead, Halo and so on
ain`t really for kids so I`m talking about for adults (don`t
know what age yours are though?) and exclusives on the 360 look
a bit thin on the ground for next year but you can pick up
cracking games really cheaply.
I had a premium and put that upstairs when the slim came out so
I`ve only really been on live a few months (which as you`ll know
is another expense but I got a year for £23) and gotta say the
Xbox marketplace is far better than the Playstation store in
terms of content and demos.
So to cap it off, If your not to bothered with exlusives I
wouldn`t bother but as you say your a tech fiend like me you
certainly wont regret getting one as it`s a great machine and
having played a few games with some of the Xbox lads on here and
their a cracking bunch of guys to play with. I`d stay away from
those 4gb jobs though.

The Mass Effect games are also excellent with another one coming
along sometime.

Only if you want to give your loyal Playstation something to
stack up poorly against. Seriously, though, there's quite a few
great exclusives that the Xbox is worth picking up for and if
you're an arcade fan, the XBLA library is phenomenal. Just don't
be seduced by things like PARTY CHAT and CROSS GAME CHAT and the
ability to mute people and all the behind the scenes stuff on
the dashboard. That's all smoke and mirrors.

I have both but since I bought the Xbox, I don't play games on
PS3 at all and literally use it for movies.
I'm just so used to the controller now that the PS3 feels lame
in comparison. Plus the online has features like party chat etc
which is so much easier than having to invite on PS3

I've got to admit I'm very close to converting to the darkside
(xbox) most of my friends have the xbox and watching them play
and see how fast things load, and how smooth game play is
(especially blackops for which us ps3 owners know it's a
ballache for us) makes me feel like my system is so inadequate.
Oh decisions decisions.

For me I had a ps3 from launch (much to the horror of my wife)
and I became an instant fan. After 2 years I found that (and
before this site) most of the people I ended up playing with
Where kids. Nearly all my friends at the time had xboxes (oh how
i laughed!). But then it died and i had a choice. I was lucky
that I chose to repair it at a cost (due to there muck around I
did get that back in full) but i could not help thinking that it
could happen again anytime soon so I decided I would change it
for something with a warranty.
Thats when i found an xbox arcade. With everything I had I could
trade it in and get what I needed and he game I wanted.
I don't think I will ever go back. That's not cos I did not like
but purely clammy freinds list is full of people I enjoy playing
with. I don't have the funds to have 2 consoles let alone
The time to play 2.
So for me the answer is simple. If you do have the time (and
money) then I would get both. Cos
They are 2 different experiences that define why someone goes
for that style. But both groups are well worth gaming with When
you find them.

Well thanks for the advice people finally took the plunge.
My Mrs got me a 250 gb slim today for my birthday tomorrow plus
12 months live.
Got halo 3 reach and gears 2 as well I must have been a good boy
this year.
