Do not buy the Dell Dimension 1337. It's a scam made by Dell the
mselfs (disallowing 3rd party apps)
By: WherezTheTeck Date: April 12, 2019, 4:34 pm

As you may know. I have a crappy Dell computer, the very rare
limited edition dell dimension 1337 golden that is. For some
reason it included a beta of Windows 2000 which accoroding to
the seller it was used to screw around with a leaked beta of 2k.
So i decided to install Windows XP SP2 and it installed fine. I
was trying to install AVG 7.0 when for some reason it did not
installed. Installing the MSN Messenger 7.5 beta did worked,
alongside the IE7 beta. I rebooted my pc just to install AVG but
it didn't even wanted to install. seriously.
I decided to install a 3rd party browser, netscape and IT didn't
even downloaded. what kind of #^&#@#$ micro$oft is
doing?!?!?
edit: i've also tried mozilla firefox. which did installed but
launching it made IE 7 beta open up.

what build was the beta running on? we've just started hearing
news about betas of 95 (chicoga or something) and 98 (memphis)
and you accidently discovered a beta.

well i haven't bought 1 dimension 1337. i bought two because
rare computers tend to break as traps. i booted the 2nd
dimension 1337 and it boots up said win2k beta.
i've checked and it runs build 1965. however some guy bought
another dimension 1337 and it had a build of codename bobcat
installed. some 8 year old child living in canada was happy
because he got the "ultra-cool" windows longhorn on it. i think
it was a build earlier than 4074 but later than 405x

oh the dimension 1337? I've heard that it was just a secret
computer made by dell for several employees at Microsoft (and
some smaller Linux companies) as well to test their betas.

that's confusing ??? . since the listing said it was a cancelled
consumer computer made sometime between 1999 and 2003. also he
just sells rare computers on some random forgotten site for dirt
cheap. i've bought them 5 bucks each. they come from microsoft.

of linux os, it was ubuna or something. i don't remember that

there's a custom Dimension 1337 called the Dimension 1338x which
runs the latest Mac OS x. it's so cool, but aren't we getting
off-topic because the computer ran the build 1965 beta

yeah we're getting off-topic. for some reason on the news it
said that a 8 year old child (maybe the same 8yo from canada i
mentioned earlier) broke a window off a high building because
the dimension 1337 didn't installed 3rd party software. i guess
i'm not the only person that has the problem.
i don't know if this seller does this crap or the dimension 1337
only works with 1st party software (for windows os, linux works
like a standard pc)
i've found a Acer TravelMate 420oof that used to cost 8$ on the
grocery store's attic or somesort (the store was a remodelled
1920s house). actually they've sold out of dimension 1337s, i'm
guessing the seller from online took ALL of the 1337s (which
costed 1.25$) and overpriced them online (5$).
i have access to the attic and i can take
[glow=yellow,2,300]them for free[/glow]. :) i've checked and
they just sell cancelled computers which for some reason
microsoft really loves to use for testing operating systems.
heck, i even got a 4k montior prototype that was hidden deep in
the shiping boxes.

Microsoft ussally uses cancelled computers since huge tech
manufacturers don't want that to collect dust so usually
microsoft would dump them away or just use them for testing.
they've used your golden dimension 1337s to test a windows 2000
beta.
i've got reports and there's 400 dimensions 1337s that were
produced. 120 were taken by microsoft which then 80 would be
recycled and 40 of those computers would be used for testing.
several linux companies took 85 of them and 75 of them would be
recycled, 10 only remain for linux os.
40 microsoft computers survived at that point
10 linux computers survived at that point
now into the present day. Microsoft upgrading testing those
computers after the longhorn reset to a Dimension 2674/Omega
computer which are secretly locked and are still in use.
of those 40 microsoft computers. 35 were listed online.
of those 10 linux computers. 5 were listed online.
for the remaining 5 linux and 5 microsoft computers. they were
sadly taken away and was dumped into the ocean (what the hell is
that what people do to rare computers?!?!)

ok i wrote some long stuff but because the forum kicked on my
account i have to rewrite it.
the acer 420oof computer did not had the check and runned every
3rd party app i threwed in... back on the dimesnion 1337,
they made sure to take 25mb off the 150gb hard
drive for a entire blacklist of EVERY 3RD PARTY APP. the
partition was INACCISIABLE, UNSEEABLE (EVEN ON
HIGH-END LINUX OS)
even worse. I removed the partition with using a unix system,
after it was done. i putted it back into the 1337 just to see
the computer giving this message:
"Hi, This computer is only made for testing puporses. You trying
to install consumer operating system?"
i pressed enter and the computer did a long 10 second beep.
after that. the BIOS disappeared. so the computer was bricked
and the computer was a hecking joke. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
