would be
more worth it (Same price point.) Considering what you're
expecting to actually use an AR for, the Tracking Point would
take too long to acquire targets. Especially at medium ranges,
even with the free-fire mode included....Perhaps not, though.
I'll admit, I am more biased towards rifles than ARs.

Those are two very different guns. That serve very different
roles. And I think you underestimate how useful those optics
would be on a light rifle. (an ar IS a rifle by the way)
I had seen the xs1 when it was announced and liked it too. But
I'm really impressed with the fact that they now have a light
infantry compatible version. This is going to change things.

First, I understand that they are two different guns with two
distinct roles. My opinion, though poorly expressed, was simply
that from the tone of the commercial, they were turning the AR
into much more of a distance weapon, than an Assault-type weapon
(as in close-quarters, alley-fighting and whatnot), and I was
questioning the wisdom of such a thing due to the reputation ARs
have for dominating that 300-600 meter range. In other words, I
felt they were increasing both the effective and minimum range
the gun could/would be used at. Which--again, in my
opinion--reduces the roundedness of the weapon, and it seemed a
bad idea to me.
Now, after considering a few things, I would say that it does
make carve out a very sound niche for itself, especially if they
were to get it into the hands of a Designated Marksman, or
possibly a Scout Sniper. I'm not saying it's not a good
weapon....I just question the versatility of it.

max effective range of the AR15 is 600 maters an AR10 i believe
is 800 meters those are not short range weapons and this device
will turn anyone into a sharp shooter or a sniper it relay does
not matter which weapon you have.
