       Re: Of Taurghans & Formics
       By: guest9 Date: October 16, 2015, 11:00 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
"Ah, your sister is a Formic traditionalist? Us Martaels hold
traditions and old manners in high esteem ...most of us at
least" Myranda took out of her small sack a platinum device and
opened it, suddenly pictures of Shyrite crawlers (ants) appeared
"To answer your question; an ant is an insectoid animal native
in Shyr, as well as in many of our colonial worlds, with an
exosceleton that lives in large groups we call colonies, they're
omnivorous and have queens ...they also communicate through
their antennas, so now you understand my crew's idiotic
       references and implications"
       Myranda hands the device with the pictures to Kilysa;

Myranda admired how synchronised the servants were and the
abundance of food. "Your food preparation is almost mechanic,
very impressive! As for our histories, it is expected from
sentient beings to not be so different after all; we all have
our faults, until the light gives us illumination! Your name's
meanings sound as it is an important name ...similar to our
last Taggaren emperor who was known as the 'Dark Seed'." A
weird thought came to the Captain; "Tell me Kilysa, are there
more intelligent species in the wideness of the Cosmos?"

Kilysa: "Yes she is certainly a traditionalist, respect is
highly valued, & joking is only used if everyone involved know
each other well. That is quite the specimen, would it be
possible to have a colony of these?"
As Kilysa hands the device back to Myranda the larvae arrive
next to the Taurghans & start sniffing them as if trying to
determine if they are food. Before they can get closer several
worker drones came by & pick them up & take them back to the
       hatchling chamber.
Kilysa: "Yes these are methods I learned from my best friends
culture, but thank you, usually Formics eat everything raw but
we have been adding a few new customs to our own culture lately.
This is only the 3rd time ive done this, I believe it is the
best yet. Yes you are correct for the most part, the more
civilizations Formic's encounter it seems many are similar. Yes,
my name mostly comes from the fact that I am the last Queen my
mother can give birth to, Formic Queens stop laying Queen eggs
around age 1400. Yes, within the vast cosmos there are many
sentient creatures, they perhaps are like the various houses you
have to an extant, some are peaceful & civilazed, some
aggressive & more war like, you very well will see the full
       range of sentient personalities."
Rokarr landed in 1 of her own battleships which is entirely
organic. She walked into Kilysa's ship with 4 Hive Guardians & a
Havoc drone. Walked up on the group she sat next to Kilysa in a
more specific manner with her back perfectly straight & legs
folded before addressing the visitors. (think of traditional
       Japanese sitting posture)
Rokarr: "Good day, Nice to meet you Myranda & your crew Thiror,
       Alina, & Rosdax."

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Myranda smiled upon hearing Rokarr's description "I'm sure your
sister would love to have a chat with my lord ...what you
describe is practically Lord Ator when he's in good mood" taking
back the projector device she added "We could arrange the
capture and transfer of a colony of Shyrite crawlers for you to
examine - I guess it is surprising to meet a species similar to
yours so far away from your homeplanet"
       - As Kilysa hands the device back to Myranda the larvae arrive
next to the Taurghans & start sniffing them as if trying to
determine if they are food. Before they can get closer several
worker drones came by & pick them up & take them back to the
       hatchling chamber. -
Thiror turned with a half-worried, half-humorous look at Kilysa
when the larvae started coming closer "With all due respect your
highness -captain- and apologies for this intrusion to your
discussion, but I think your offspring might consider us to be
       quite the tasty snack"
The captain told her lieutenant to remain calm and that they're
just babies and returned to the discussion "That was a cute
image I must say... where was I? Of course! ..We used to eat
raw food ourselves, although that was some 30'000 years ago,
ever since it is considered more-or-less an exception rather
than the rule, furthermore, most of our noble Homeworlder
'brethren', unlike us colonials, have abandoned eating fauna
products since they consider it lowly. For the existence of
other alien species, I must say I'm one of the few Ghashyr that
will get to say 'I told you so' regarding that matter to my
compatriots - I always thought that it is quite impossible for
the galaxy to be just the playground for a single species, that
suggestion always sounded quite obnoxious to my ears.
Myranda raised her eybrows after thinking about the age that
Formics can reach "You said your mother, the Queen, is more than
1400 years old? Us Ghashyr roughly manage to surpass an ace and
only very few have achieved, through scientific means and
tremendous sacrifices, to merely reach the age of 500 years. As
for sentient societies; I could imagine there are similarities
with our various Houses' different philosophical approaches and
different alien sentient cultures in general; sentience brings
forth many similar societal structures and behavioural patterns,
although I guess in some cases the similarities are a little bit
       harder to detect."
       -
       -
Upon Rokarr's entrance Captain Myranda signaled her crew to
stand alongside her and salute Rokarr "Good day to you too, I'm
Myranda Lorinvax, Captain of House Martael and sworn paladin of
the Ghashyr Empire, special envoy of the Ghashyr for this
meeting of our two species by degree of my lord, Ator Martael.
In behalf of my Lord, my Empress, my people and my crew; I'm
most honoured by your presence and your sister's presence,
       Princess Rokarr"

Kilysa: "Yes I think Rokarr & Ator would enjoy a chat, ah
excellent, yes it is surprising, in our home galaxy we found
others that we added to our Swarm, originally there were only 4
types among us now theres over 15."
Kilysa turned & looked at her children for a moment & then at
Thiror: "Yes I believe your right, I apologize, there at the age
they want to taste & crawl on everything new they encounter, ill
have they put in their chamber for now."
Kilysa: "What separates a homeworker & colonial? are they
different genetically? , We ourselves believed once that only
hive mind species could be sentient, & anything else was merely
a wild beast. Yes my mother is getting up in age, she's close to
being a senior citizen. Im almost afraid one of my sisters will
declare Agnortet sooner or later. oh my, so young, though I dont
have room to talk im only 85 which is barely considered fully
grown as far as Formic Queens are concerned. But I assure you
there are races out there that out live Formics by large margins
naturally or by scientific means, but there maybe methods to
extend age. Yes you are correct, may I ask what your species may
do with the knowledge they are not alone? & will this discovery
       elevate all of your status's?
Rokarr: "Please sit, my sister shared with me what she has
learned of you & your species, a word of advice if I may, your
species should find a way to unite soon for there are many other
species in this galaxy, some will be peaceful, others you will
have to fight for a time, thus you will be much stronger united
when this time comes. I would not be surprised if other houses
have encountered other species & will use it to their advantage
       when the time comes."

Myranda smiled "I have had children myself, they can be trouble,
but they're worth it" she then continued "Also, it's
Homeworlder, not homeworker... and no, we don't have many
biological differences other than skin tone and muscle built -
due to slight differences in gravity that the gravitational
machinery didn't manage to eliminate - the differences are
mainly cultural; they live in the homeworlds, namely Shyr and
the first colonies, while we live in the far reaches of the
empire and are not as attached to old notions of 'nations' and
'race' as much as they are. I'm 52 years old myself which is
roughly considered our species prime age to start a family, we
start aging around 80 years." the Captain stood and thought a
little bit "They would propably seek to advance their houses'
influence inside the empire through one way, or another, to be
honest, ie; if you meet any Ymbrels expect them to ask you if
you're interested in a loan from their bank. As for status, I'm
not sure I could answer that, we know not what may come, only
       what comes."
The Captain quickly turned to Rokarr "Well princess, we are
united; House Martael is a tributary vassal of Empress Myrsa and
therefore every vassal of Martael is a subject of hers as well,
the same goes for every other house. It's only that we don't
actually like each other that much, which is to be expected
considering her kin destroyed House Martael's homeplanet as well
as many of its tributary planets, including the one we're
standing on. But yes, you're right, if what you say is true,
petty internal politics should not stand in the way of our
species' wellbeing, though do not fret; we have our secret
weapons to keep us from harm"

Kilysa: "ah Homeworlder, forgive me, I take it Ymbrels like
increasing financial gain, they would not like Formic society as
our money system is only to trade with other species as we do
not use money, well I hope what ever comes is good."
Rokarr: "Formics know what its like to loose your home world, ah
very good, I assume you will start terra-forming operations to
       revitalize your plants?"

Myranda to Kilysa: "We use don't use money either, most of our
transactions happen through Arsazezyn bonds and yes, I hope so
       as well."
The captain hastily turned to Rokarr "I'm sorry to hear that
princess Rokarr, may you find a honest revenge. As for
terraforming, we have started already a process in several
planets, including Remelax, but it is rather slow ...as you can
see the unstable temperature and the sudden Firestorms deem
Remelax uninhabitable for Ghashyr at the moment"
       -
       --
       ---
Rosdax, the up until now silent and serious engineer turned with
an almost frozen look in his whited-out eyes at Kilysa.
Suddenly, a voice spoke directly to kilysa's mind while the time
around her seemed to have frozen and a shadowy black figure of a
short, masked Ghashyr took form right infront of her.
"Salutations Queen-daughter Kilysa and welcome to my realm, I
honestly see forward to our peoples' friendship, despite you and
your sister disregarded the courtesy of meeting and paying
respects to your actual host and instead chose to mingle with
the servants of the house; I'm Empress Myrsa Valxaryen of the
Lightbringing Empire of the Seed of Shyr, nineteenth of my name.
I apologise; don't be alert by this intrusion of your
conciousness, although I guess a telepathic species like yours
would consider this normal - Using a power mask was the only way
I could directly contact you without alerting one of my vassals
which sought to use you as yet another weapon in their arsenal.
I have been notified of everything that happened on Remelax up
until this moment and I will be glad, of course, to hear
whatever more you have to say when you come to planet Shyr, the
birthplace of our species and the most appropriate place to
begin the establishment of relations between your people and
mine. By all means feel free to retain relations with my
subjects of House Martael, but I'd consider it more sound if you
prefered to enact relations with the head of the whole species
instead. Do not attempt to contact me until you reach the
outskirts of Shyr, when you do, you will be asked for a codename
       - This form of telepathy I am using, encompasses completely
different means of reaching the recipient in contrast to your
naturally gifted, and might I add impressive, telepathic powers.
A subject we may as well discuss in person ...among other
       more important subjects."
*Kilysa receives coordinations to planet Shyr and the codename
       "Somandraqish"*

(OOC: No worries mate, alot has been happening on my end irl as
well, in fact ill probably will be MIA for the next few days)
Rokarr: "Yes we did find vengeance & then some, yes I can
imagine this planet is a tough one, although if you block the
sun & focus on restoring the ozone first it may spend it up a
       bit."
Rokarr noticed the spike in psionic energy but drew no attention
       to it.
Kilysa spoke covertly to the new creature that appeared.
Kilysa to the Ghashyr Queen: "Good Day Empress Myrsa Valxaryen,
I look forward to our friendship as well, I assure you we meant
no disrespect, Yes it is very common to have sudden persons
speaking to you, for this reason our consciousness is layered
you could say, part of it is open to any while the rest is
guarded. Ah so the Power Masks are not lost after all, not to
worry I will not say anything to your servants, & we would never
let ourselves be used as weapons in civil struggles. Yes I would
very much like to see planet Shyr, my vessel will be fully
operational in about a day & a half. Ill retain some relations
with your subjects but ill have must of my relations with you of
course, but our power to approve certain items is limited my
mother will have to meet you, ill see if she can join me by the
time my Vessel is ready. Alright I will arrive on the outskirts
of Shyr when ready with the code name. Thank you, I find your
technology fascinating, ive never come across such things that
can induce psionic abilities. Yes im certain we will have much
       to discuss"

Myranda; "I'm glad to hear the destruction of your planet was
avenged. Princess Rokarr, the case of Remelax is not that
simple; the sudden temperature levels' rising and firestorms are
the results of ancient Ghashyr technology ...they were caused by
radioactive reactions in the aerial substances of the planet as
means of planetary destruction -practically creating many little
suns in the air of Remelax- we can minimise some of these
reactions, but in general we have to wait for the radioactive
       reactions to stop"
       -
       --
       ---
The shadowy figure of Myrsa raised her hands in a welcoming
gesture "I see Kilysa, indeed it is not your fault for falling
right into our internal ...disagreements, however I cannot
guarantee that house Martael's behaviour will remain unpunished.
Nevertheless, it is good to know you're open to negotiations and
that you won't succumb to petty political plays.
Yes, the abilities granted by the mask impress even myself
sometimes, but I'm afraid we'll have to continue this
conversation later; I hope to see you again in Shyr, preferably
along with your Queen-mother ...your sister is welcome as well
       if she wishes to come."
The shadow vanished and everything was back to normal, not many
seemed to have noticed anything, apart from Rokarr and Kilysa.

Rokarr to Myranda: "What if Formics could remove some if not all
of the radiation causing the reactions?"
       -
       -
Kilysa to Myrsa: "I do hope that Myranda & her crew were not
intentionally involved in such actions against you, in which
case perhaps they could be spared from your wrath, but if not I
understand, since Formics are hiveminds, a Queen & her entire
brood suffer penalties if actions are taken against the Empire.
Yes negotiations will be good, im a scientist so I have no
interest in politic's. Yes indeed I shall see you again, far
       well for now."

Kilysa acts normally listening to Myranda & Rokarr while the
Formic Queens speak secretly to each other.
Rokarr: "I assume that particular creature sitting their is
       psionic?"
Kilysa: "No, that was the Ghashyr Queen, seems some of their
ancient tech is used secretly by the Queens house or perhaps
just a select few including her, I know your specialty is in
Tactics, whether it be War business or politics but I think we
       should stay neutral."
Rokarr: "Yes of course, I only wish to help them restore there

       Kilysa: "Yes I am to."
