Re: Xefr's Adventures: The grey meatbags

Erixen is feeling really perplexed by the dragon's
self-deprecating behaviour, he almost feels sad for him
..almost, as he is too happy that Xefr accepted the invitation
to think much of anything else. He comes closer to Xefr and
opens his hands in a friendly gesture "Oh, great Xefr, I do not
understand if you say these out of extreme politeness or other
causes, but rest assured that you would not disappoint our
Talmyr ...She would be thrilled to meet an old wise dragon!
...and while most of us don't believe that the ancient dragons
were divine, as no one is divine but Azgor Tal, you would be
welcome in Shyr!"
Myntorel leans to Erixen "I don't know, we perhaps should be
more careful" he then turns to the warrior-spirit "You say you
are a warrior? Well, then, learn that us Ghashyr are great
warriors and anyone who is not afraid to face death for honour
would be welcome as well!" ..The captain looks at his paladin
in a disapproving way.

The Dragon raises his head to look at Erixen, seeming to study
him. While the sadness remains in his eyes, Xefr doesn't sigh
this time. His voice has a bit more confidence in it, "Do not
worry yourself, I could not consider myself divine. After all, a
god would not have made the many mistakes I have in my time.
I'll visit your Shyr, one way or another I need to get out more
and this seems like a worthy enough reason. I'll try not and
disappoint your Talmyr. And who knows, perhaps I can find what I
seek..." His gaze then returns to the floor, and the depression
seeps back into his tone, "Though I doubt it even exists... But
enough of that for now, care to tell me where this Shyr is?"
The Warrior Dragon grunts, and his voice seems to be lined with
amusement. "Hah! That is good, any who disregard combat are
fools doomed to failure. And I would gladly face death, if it
did not flee in terror at my presence!" The other energy dragon
rolls his eyes, but doesn't comment.

The paladin smiles, satisfied at the warrior Dragon's respond
and bumps his armour, in the meanwhile Erixen looks at Xefr with
an investigative look "I do not know what you seek Xefr, but I
wish you may find it ...in Shyr, it is a place of miracles
after all!" he then turns looking at the open hangar "Well, if
it is decided, we will return to our ship and transfer you
Shyr's location, then we will travel together ..to avoid any
misunderstandings with the Imperial authorities." Erixen and
Myntorel bow to the black dragon and enter the fighter to return
to the Ghashyr frigate ...the Captain orders the Cartographer
officer "Transfer a trip plan for Shyr and any necessary
information to the Dragon's ship."

Watching the fighter leave, the second energy dragon spoke to
the others. "I shall get the ship moving. We shall leave for
Shyr in a few minutes." With that, he left in another flash,
leaving Xefr and the Warrior in the hanger. Turning to Xefr, the
shard spoke for himself, using his voice rather than telepathy,
"So, do you really think we'll figure it out? ". With a sigh, an
answer was given, "Not at all, Guardian. That time is not now.
But our answer is out there, it will merely show itself when the
time is right. For now, we shall wait until the Technology shard
gets this vessel moving. For now, we are having another
adventure..." The two then disappeared from the hanger, allowing
it to return to its silence.
From the bridge, the Technology Shard appeared before the Blood
Moon soldiers acting as the Soul's Eclipse's crew. As the
information came through, it was translated into their own
language. It only took one order, "Set course for Shyr! We leave
immediately!" The crew went into action, and the entire vessel
threw off its facade of lifelessness. The entire ship lit up, as
systems came online, including the engines. Soul's Eclipse flew
a distance away from the vortex, and once out of Dentibus
Hydri's gravitational pull, it entered Warp Speed.

Once the captain arrived at the frigate he gave orders to set
course for Shyr, he then dressed in finery and opened a hologram
channel to Gal. An old Ghashyr lord with a crown adorned with
crescents appeared, slightly interested to view the explorer so
early "What is it that you wish Captain Erixen?"
The Captain kneeled and rised his head to look at the old lord
"Glad to see you Lord Ogradax! I've made the discovery of the
millenium, my Lord!"
Ogradax leaned towards the hologram of Captain Erixen "And what
is that my good captain? Could it benefit House Galgatyen?"
Erixen rises and full of pride exclaims.. "Dragons my lord!
Living. Fire-Breathing. Dragons! ...I'm bringing a specimen
called Xefr to Shyr as a guest, to enact negotiations."
The old moon-king gets up, his eyes and look make clear that he
didn't expect that discovery ..he clears his throat "Dragons?
That is indeed a great discovery Captain ...if you say the
truth this could have tremendous implications for our faiths,
but I'm sure Talmyr Myrsa as a Draconian would show great
satisfaction at these news ...if you're just hallucinating
though, you'll end your days in Marga!"
Erixen places his hand upon his chest "I swear to Azgor Tal and
all that are enlightened! Dragons live. You shall see with your
own eyes my lord."
Ogradax sits back in his throne "Very well, I'll inform the
Imperial authorities of your coming to Shyr ..the Talmyr is
currently unavailable, but I'm sure my son would handle the
situation as it should be handled ..you shall be greatly
rewarded for your service Captain!" The hologram ends and
Captain Erixen satisfied and sure of himself orders the ship to
engage Warp seven, course: Shyr.
..
....
At a later time...
The two ships arrive in the Taurghan system, there await them
around forty Azgorlanor Dreadnaughts, an admiral opens a hailing
frequency towards Xefr and Erixen, in the meanwhile her crew
scans the lifeforms within the alien vessel "I am Grand Admiral
Rymera of House Tamorlyn, I WelcoOH MY TAL! It is true!
...ehem, Welcome Captain Erixen and welcome Lord Xefr, I must
ask you to follow me towards the Stardrome. Are there any
requests visitors?"

The Soul's Eclipse accepted the hail, but was silent for a
moment. Aboard its bridge, Xefr had closed his eyes, for they
were not needed now. He gazed outwards with his powers instead,
seeing all the lifeforms before him, and zeroing in on the
Admiral's mind. With this, he could use telepathy to speak to
her directly. Xefr's tone was dull and average, "Greeting Grand
Admiral Rymera. I suppose I do have one request as of now, could
you not refer to me as a lord? I have not earned such a title,
just Xefr will do. But otherwise, there are no problems. Lead on
to your Stardome Admiral, I will have my vessel follow."
Beside him, the Guardian Shard leaned into his Technology
counterpart. "Is he actually in a good mood? He doesn't usually
go this long without a sigh or something." Rolling his eyes, the
other energy dragon responded, "Of course not you dunce, but the
essentials shard has always been polite. The prospect of new
knowledge probably has him distracted from the normal thought
processes. Now shut up fool, I want to listen." This prompted a
growl from the warrior of course, but it fell on deaf ears.

The Admiral responded in a reluctant tone, quite estranged by
the psionic voice "Erm, as you wish L- ...Xefr. We will land in
eastern Urva; Lord Rysannox thought it would be fitting if the
meeting was conveyed in an ancient Valx Sanctuary."
The convoy descents into Shyr's atmosphere and flies above the
great Urvan desert, soon appear the Eastern mountains and a
large ancient structure, a group of Ghashyr stands near the
entrance...

The Ships land near the old sanctuary and a dune of sand covers
everything, only some figures appear inside the dune walking
towards the spaceships. At the center of the group, Rysannox is
yet again responsible to meet a different species ..though this
time is different, as this species is not new to Ghashyr.
Captain Erixen gets out of his spaceship followed by his paladin
and first-mate "An honour to meet you my lord." he kneels before
Rysannox and takes his hat off. Rysannox however is turned
towards the alien vessel... "I hope that what you say is true
Captain Erixen, my father does not forgive and never forgets."

Soul's Eclipse parked itself over the Sanctuary, and stood
still. It made no visible intent of landing, as it did not need
to. On the ground, another brilliant, and blinding, flash of
light appeared a little away from the structure's entrance.
After it cleared, there stood Xefr, as well as the two energy
dragons in their normal garb, though his gaze was fixated on the
ancient building. He studies it for a few seconds, before
turning his eyes to the Ghashyr. His voice has more energy in it
this time, lined with curiosity, "Hello there young ones. What
exactly is this place? Your Admiral said it was a Sanctuary, but
is that its only purpose?" Behind him, the Guardian Shard
suppresses his groan of boredom.

The Ghashyr gasp at the presence of a dragon, Rysannox quickly
comes closer to the giant reptile, his mind filled with
questions...
He reaches his hands in a welcoming gesture "It is true then!
Dragons have returned! I am Echopalad of her Greatness the
Talmyr, Rysannox of House Galgatyen; I welcome you, dear Xefr,
and I shall answer your question; ...this was a sanctuary, it
is only a pilgrimage sight for Fire-Worshipers nowadays. You see
Xefr, this building housed one of the greatest and wisest
dragons of Shyr ..nothing like the late Dragons." ...now
standing only a few meters away from Xefr, the middle-aged
Ghashyr politician adopts a more relaxed, yet curious tone..
"You claim you do not know anything about this place?"

As Rysannox drew closer, Xefr's head turned downwards maintain
eye contact. He has a curious tone of his own, "Can't say I do,
never seen such a structure. I've seen many sanctuaries before,
of all designs and shapes, but this is one I do not recognize.
And you say it was once a residence, but now it is a place of
pilgrimage? Interesting, maybe I can speak with one of the
pilgrims some time. Though if this place was for a wise
dragon... Perhaps I do not belong here... But enough of that, go
back to what you said before, there is something I wanted
clarified. What exactly do you mean by 'return' and 'late'
dragons?" The yellow eyes are brimming with anticipation. The
two energy dragons seem interested as well, leaning over so that
they may stare directly at Rysannox.
