A thyroid imbalance can cause weight problems, chronic fatigue,
feelings of being overwhelmed, anxiety, emotional imbalances,
hair loss, skin problems, depression or any combination of these
symptoms. The thyroid gland, located at the base of the throat,
works on a physiological level to balance the rate of your
metabolism. Thyroid acupressure points enable healing energy
(known as Qi or Chi) to move through the thyroid restoring its
homeostatic (balancing) mechanisms. Opening the energy flow
through the thyroid gland can balance both hyperthyroid and
hypothyroid conditions since this flow governs homeostasis.
However, it takes constant practice to maintain this
equilibrium.
I want to give you guidance on: how to restore energy flow
through your thyroid gland, as well as natural methods and
common issues necessary to balance this vital endocrine gland. I
believe many people with a history of thyroid problems* who have
received medical advice and treatment can use acupressure
points, breathing exercises, yoga postures, and assertive
communication to balance the thyroid successfully without side
effects. This video clip will show you a pair of acupressure
points for balancing your thyroid. In the remainder of this
article I will describe a powerful but easy-to-do exercise,
which stimulates the most potent acupressure points for
balancing the thyroid gland. Then I’ll summarize the work you’ll
need to do to get the best results.
Stimulate the thyroid acupressure points daily on your neck,
base of your throat, and chest as instructed below. The most
healing thyroid points are localized near your thyroid gland and
are called the Windows of the Sky. These points are stimulated
effectively in the following exercise called the Neck Press. For
best results, you need to do this exercise 3 to 5 times daily
for a few months. Check out a fully guided routine using Neck
Press to benefit your thyroid, shoulders and neck.
Neck Press - Head forward with elbows close
Neck Press: Sit comfortably with your eyes closed and your hands
interlaced behind your neck, letting your head hang forward to
gently stretch your neck muscles. Bring your elbows close
together in front of you, pointing downward, compressing the
sides of your neck with the heels of your hands. Inhale deeply,
raising your head as you gently stretch your elbows out to the
sides, while letting your head tilt back. Exhale as you head
relaxes forward and your elbows come close together in front of
you again. Repeat this breathing exercise for two minutes; then
continue with the use of K 27.
Neck Press - Head up with elbows apart
Hold K 27, the acupressure points on both sides of the sternum
as shown in the video clip above. With your eyes still closed,
take long, slow deep breaths as you slowly let your head turn
from side to side. Feel your entire neck region relax as you
continue to breathe deeply, while holding these points. Gently
let your head tilt upward as you inhale and downward as you
exhale, while you use your mind to visualize more blood flowing
through your thyroid gland at the base of your throat. With your
hands in your lap, take another minute or two to let yourself
completely relax. If you have a few more minutes, this would be
a great time to sit up with a straight spine and mediate.
Causes: I believe thyroid problems can often be caused by
traumatic events or inner conflicts, which may have occurred
years ago. Thyroid blockages commonly present themselves during
these hard, stressful times when we aren’t supported to fully
express our feelings and needs. Blocked self-expression can
contribute to chronic neck tension which constricts the energy
flow through your thyroid gland and affects its functioning.
Expressing yourself appropriately harmonizes your thyroid, and
mind/body issues. Many people make excuses for not living their
dreams, minimize their needs, and have difficulty expressing
these needs, goals, and life aspirations. When you get support
to express your feelings and formulate creative goals, your
thyroid gland will begin to come back to life. If you practice
speaking your truth in appropriate ways your thyroid will
respond.
Acupressure Thyroid Self-Treatment Program: I believe that to
get the best results you must do all I have described above
using the points, the Neck Press breathing exercise, plus yoga
postures (if your body is flexible enough), omit sugar, take
kelp supplements as directed, and get counseling for enhancing
your self-expression.
My wife, who had a hyperactive thyroid condition, healed herself
over the last few years using this holistic program. She choose
not to take radioactive iodine, which would have made her
thyroid under-active, causing her to be dependent on taking
thyroid supplements the rest of her life. Instead she had the
courage to change her diet, completely eliminating all sugar for
three months. She continues to reduce her sugar intake
significantly of all sugars such as cane sugar, honey, brown
sugar, corn syrup, fructose, sodas, citrus juices, and all
sweets. My wife also found doing the Shoulder Stand and Plow
Pose yoga postures with long, deep breathing at night before bed
helped her tremendously. In the morning, she practices 15
minutes of the Five Tibetan Rites. In addition to the
self-acupressure described above, she also often received weekly
acupuncture treatments.
Be sure to practice the Neck Press breathing exercise followed
by holding the K 27 acupressure points 3 to 5 times daily for at
least 3 months. Once you begin to achieve results and your
thyroid balances, you will still need to do these practices, but
not as many times per day for maintenance and prevention.
Believe me, it’s a lot of work to take your health into your own
hands, but once you do, it’s an empowering, gratifying feeling.
*Important: Please see a doctor for medical advice and treatment
especially if you have any medical problems or symptoms before
you begin any of these routines. The acupressure points and
guidance here are not intended to be a substitute for medical
treatment.

Learn how to use a pair of Acupressure points for thyroid
problems, from acupressure author Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D. A
thyroid imbalance can cause weight problems, chronic fatigue,
overwhelm, anxiety, emotional imbalances, hair loss, skin
problems, depression or a combination of these symptoms.
Thyroid acupressure points enable healing energy (known as Qi or
Chi) to move through the thyroid, which restores its balancing
or homeostatic mechanisms. Opening the energy flow through the
thyroid gland can balance both hyperthyroid and hypothyroid
conditions, because this flow governs homeostasis, however it
takes constant practice to maintain this balance.

NATURAL CURES FOR THYROID DISEASE
First of all, what is thyroid? Thyroid gland has very important
and complex role in human body what includes: keeping normal
pace of metabolism of all cells. It also affects regular
absorption of glucose, synthesis of proteins, frequency of
cardiac activity and circulation of blood in organism. In this
way, thyroid gland is directly responsible for regular physical
and mental development and good overall condition of the body.
Disorder in function of thyroid gland belong to the most common
hormonal disorder and is more often by men than women. Not only
that the function of the gland can be in disorder, but also it
can be enlarged. Nodes on its surface can apear as well as
malignancy.
By the disorder of secretion of hormone there are 2 types of
illness: hyperthyroidism (condition of increased function of
thyroid gland) and hypothyroidism (condition of reduced function
of thyroid gland). There are many reasons for its disorder and
the most common are: irregular nutrition, irregular type of
life, chronic anxiety and stress, excessive efforts during the
long period of time and hereditary factor.
Treatment of thyroid gland disease is long-term process which
needs to be taken seriously. Official, modern medicine offers
hormonal therapy that noone can neglect. Natural cures, that
will be presented here, need to be treated only as helpful aid
to the official medicine in the aim of fast and successful
healing (consultation with the doctors are recommended). Natural
cures are important and need to be taken after modern medicine
healing, especially in certain cases when patients don't feel
very well, after taken all recommended official medicine drugs.
Now, how to cure thyroid naturally?
Natural Cures for Hypothyroidism
When there is case of low function of thyroid gland
(hypothyroidism), it is recommended to take food rich with
iodine such as: sea fish, mussels, lobster, seaweed, fish oil
and obligatory iodised salt.
For hypothyroidism well-known for long period of time as well as
its best natural cure is liquer of walnuts. Liquer of walnuts
can be prepared by using 40 pieces of very fresh walnuts (while
they are very young and still in the shell). Shell should be cut
with knife (to allow juices to run from the shell); than put in
a big, glass vessel and overflowed with 2l of Komova brandy.
After it, sugar should be added, in quantity according to your
wish. Glass vessel needs to be hermetically closed and kept on
the sun for 6 weeks, intact. After that, liquer should be
strained and poured in the bottle.
Walnuts liquer needs to be taken every morning before breakfast:
in the dose of one small glass.
Natural Cures for Hyperthyroidism
For the treatment of increased function of thyroid gland
(Hyperthyroidism) can be helpful tea prepared of flowers from
bedstraw herb (Galium verum). Bedstraw tea needs to be prepared
in usual way: one small spoon full of flowers from bedstraw
needs to be overflowed with one cup of boiled water. Than keep
it intact, for a few minutes. This needs to be taken 3 times per
day.
Parallely, it is recommended to rinse the throat with the tea
prepared with stonger concentration of flowers. Repeat it
several times per day.
To achieve the best result of treating hyperthyroidism, put the
compress full of fresh bedstraw flowers on the part of the neck
where the thyroid gland is positioned. The compress should be
prepared by using this natural cure as a whole, in the form of
small bouquet overflowed with boiled water for just a few
seconds and immediatelly positioned on the compress. When herbs
get little colder, the compress should be positioned on the neck
like this: natural cure should be directlly put on the neck, in
period of one hour, several times per day. The best way for
patient is to stay in the bad, during this natural cure.
Bedstraw is also a good natural cure for goiter.
-----------------------------------------------
In the last period of time, it is widely spreaded story about
natural cure called Arony that can, among all other medicinal
characteristics, even positively regulate work of thyroid gland.
It is very often that the women in the period of menopause face
with disorder of thyroid gland. In both cases (reduced or
increased function of thyroid gland) it is recommended to use
teas made out of natural cures: sage or mistletoe which regulate
level of hormone in the organism.
