the Starkillers, Butcher of Worlds, Oathsworn of An'nggrath
Carrying a brutal axe, and an oath to take the skull of a star,
he has come to find ancient technology that may aid him in
setting the centerpiece of the skull throne- and almost
certainly cement his ascension.

Well my guy is already on the main site for the campaign but i
figured id give his bio in here
Iron Father Vaylund of Clan Karguul, Iron Hands Space Marines
Iron Father Vaylund is quite a veteran of the chapter and has
served in his role for several centuries. As a member of clan
Karguul he is under the command of Lord Bannus and has been
dispatched to a new area of conflict. He is considered by many
to be a walking manifestation of the beliefs of the Iron Hands,
being nearly all machine he has proven time and time again that
the machine is indeed strong. He is stubborn in his beliefs but
also manages to be somewhat of a diplomat at times. For these
reason Lord Bannus has sent Vaylund, knowing that working
alongside several other imperial forces will require some form
of coordination lest they become overwhelmed by the enemies who
have attacked this planet.
His reason for being here is simple, 10,000 years ago during the
great crusade this planet was brought into compliance by the
Iron hands, the likes of Xenos and Heretics shall not be
permitted to tread upon a planet won over without retribution.

to exept the wisdom of the greater good.

[Edit] - Sorry for stirring up a debate about relative power
levels, I'm sticking with the expensive HQ as an investment for
later on, rather than going with the cheaper paper-tiger
approach. I'll just have a really tiny army the first few
rounds!
I'll be playing a Deathwatch Strike Force, though utilizing the
Grey Knight Codex to get there.
[Edit] - Deathwatch feels like its supposed to be more elite
than C:SM, but not quite as elite as C:GK. Personal rule - Will
not use Paladins as Troops (i/e no Draigo), will not try and use
Purifiers as Troops (i/e no Crowe). Standard Strikes should
adequately represent an armed-to-the-gills Kill-Team, thank you
very much! And while I won't make it a rule, I sincerely doubt
I'll use Dreadknights.
Everything else I can reasonably re-fluff into something the
Deathwatch could conceivably have access to. Hammerhand becomes
Strength Amplifiers, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't!
Force Weapons become poisoned weapons, sometimes the mix of
toxins is off and they don't work right. Warp Quake is Homing
Signal Scramblers...so forth and so on.
Watch Commander Anton Rufio, Deathwatch (formerly of the
Avenging Sons)
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
6 6 4 4 3 5 3 10 2+/4++
Wargear - TDA, Incinerator, Nemesis Force Sword,
Frag+Krak+Psychout 'Nades, Iron Halo
Rules - Aegis, ATSKNF, Ind. Char., Preferred Enemy (Demons),
Psyker (ML 1), Grand Strategy.
Achievements - As yet, none.
________________________________________________
Rufio is something of a firebrand among the Deathwatch,
relentless in the pursuit of his objectives but unwilling to
bear any more losses than are absolutely necessary [Edit] - even
among "lesser" forces, like the Adeptus Sororitas or the
Imperial Guard - all human life is worthy of his best efforts at
protection. That said, sometimes the Emperor's Duty requires
sacrifice, while Rufio will make every effort to preserve life,
he will not flinch if its sacrifice is required. [/Edit] The
name of every [s]Marine[/s] human who has perished under his
command is engraved upon his armor. Formerly commander of Watch
Station Kempec he has been tasked by Inquisitor Corwyn (Ordo
Xenos) with tracking down information about a relic that was old
even in the time of the Crusades, known only as The Libram.
His mission is small, a Strike Cruiser and two kill teams at the
moment, but Corwyn has promised more resources if Rufio can
produce results...
-----
[Edit] - Rufio is the commander of the Marine detachment aboard
the Deathwatch Strike Cruiser Endurant Vigil which, under sealed
orders, entered the Falon's Regret system some 3 days ago. Rufio
and his Marines, along with a detachment of Ratings from the
Vigil have docked with and re-activated the abandoned and
dormant Watch Station Duras (which is intended to function as
their home-base for the time being).
The ship itself is captained by an NPC Marine who I will name
and flesh out if the narrative calls for it.

So if there's still room to join the league, I am. My fluff is
being worked on, But as it stands now it's looking like this.
The last organism of the Tyranid prime strain "Headhunter"
WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
6 4 5 5 3 5 4 10 3+
Wargear: Bonded Exoskeleton, Lash Whip and Bonesword, Scything
Talons, Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs
Rules: Synapse, Alpha Warrior, Independent Character, Shadow in
the warp
As a personal rule, the Headhunter will (almost!) always accept
and issue challenges when in an assault.
As Hive fleet Colossus was engaged in it's final stand with
the Imperial Fleet outside Falon's Regret, it learned something
of the Navy and Imperial Guard at their service: All of the
smaller, weaker beings flock to the more important lifeforms for
direction, and will fall apart once their leaders are killed. It
was with this knowledge that they began to formulate their
newest strategy, expected to be carried out by an elite Tyranid
Prime strain known as the Headhunters, who specialized in
hunting down and mauling enemies in personal combat,
demoralizing the surrounding troops.
However, the Imperial fleet was still too numerous for
Colossus to defeat, and as the Hive Mind realized it's attempts
were futile, It created one last copy of the Headhunter and
deployed all of the lifeforms it could create onto the surface
of Falon's Regret. The headhunter, knowing his mastery over the
other lifeforms would not last long before the fleet was
finished, used all of his remaining synaptic power to will the
Tyranids on the planet's surface into a state of dormancy.
Now, after years of hibernation, the Headhunter has been
awoken by a resurgence in it's synaptic power. Although it knew
it's strength was easing it's way back after it's long sleep,
the Prime could feel a distant synapse power telling it that
Headhunter would need it's strength very soon, as the Hive mind
was returning to Falon's regret, and all life would soon be
devoured. The Mind willed the prime to begin finding those who
would hinder the new fleet's arrival, and consume them,
absorbing their powers and removing threats to the new fleet.
Awakening dormant lifeforms as it traveled, the Headhunter set
to work the only way it knew how.

Alright guys, I should have most of the new avatars added. I'm
going to do pairings tomorrow as I have to greatly increase the
size of the map to accomdate all the new blood. I really dig the
back stories I've read so far and thats the sort of thing I want
to encourage. Since a ton of guys I don't know personally have
become interested in this project I'm just going to throw this
out there now at the beginning.
This is not intended to be a competitive event. A quick reading
of the league rules should make it pretty clear this isn't
exactly tuned for tournament play. Some codexes will be hurt
more than others by the restrictions, and as Avatars gain
achievements they will become horribly undercosted for what
they're bringing to the table. This is understood.
As a guy that enjoys gaming competitively with Warmachine, I
understand fully that this might not be to every one's tastes.
If you don't think its for you, its cool to drop now, its also
cool to play a few rounds and decide if you can enjoy a more
relaxed game. I've noticed people already concerned that the
spirit of the event will be subverted. Personally, I'm not too
worried about that. We're all adults, if you're just not having
fun playing against an individual, let me know, I'll use my EO
mojo to make sure you don't get paired against them again.
To close it out, the point of this exercise is to see what kind
of stories we can weave around the battles we have over the
course of the winter. There's no entry fee, and nothing riding
on victory and defeat, both make good stories, so my advice is
to relax and enjoy the ride.

Alright guys, I haven't expanded the map yet, but I've posted
the rest of the pairings for round one. For people that didn't
provide their real name I just used your name on these forums,
and going forward I'll probably just do that for every one as it
makes finding your partner easier probably.
Note: Rogue Tau is the odd guy out right now. I believe one more
player may be jumping in as a marine to take him on, but if he
doesn't Rogue Tau, just challenge any one and it'll count as
your official game for the round.
Lookin forward to seeing how the first round goes, take it easy.

Captain Stacia, Star Phantoms 3rd Company.
Wargear: Power sword, plasma pistol, artificer armor.
Captain Stacia has had a long and storied service in the Star
Phantoms, from his days of being a Devastator in 5th Company, to
his service in the Vanguard in 1st Company, to his recent ascent
to captaincy of the 3rd Company.
He served with 5th Company for nearly fifteen years as a
Devastator, before being rotated into an Assault Squad. It was
here that Captain Stacia's true talents as a Space Marine
emerged, and he eventually ended up taking command of his own
squad, which he lead with distinction for a number of years.
After a particularly daring act on the battlefield, he earned
his Crux Terminatus, and was accepted into the ranks of the
Vanguard in 1st Company, a position he kept until just recently.
He, along with the rest of his chapter, was involved in heavy
fighting during the assault on Badab. His chapter suffered
greatly, but helped to accomplish the goal the Imperium had been
striving for. In the aftermath, when the shattered chapter began
to rebuild, Stacia was offered command of his own company. While
he had turned down such overtures in the past, he found it
impossible to on this occasion.
Stacia now works to help in the rebuilding process of his
chapter, while proving to those around him and in his own
chapter that he is worthy of command. He has recently received
orders to deploy his forces to Falcon's Regret. Not wishing to
speed the still understrength 3rd Company into a series of
vicious battles, he has decided to bring just two squads of 3rd
Company veterans with him, while the rest of the company builds
itself back to full strength.
It will be the ultimate test of Stacia's ability to command and
fight, as he tries to hold out and finish the objectives of his
Chapter Master with just a scant few men.
