       98mph on A45

I was caught speeding on the A45 in Northamptonshire. My court
case is next week so any last minute advice would be much
appreciated. I was working at the time and was up for a
promotion so I didn’t want to be late for a meeting.

Being late for a meeting isn't going to help you in anyway. I
       presume you are pleading guilty?
Expect 6 points (but a short ban up to 28 days is a
possibility), plus a fine of around 100% of your weekly income
(Reduced by a third for an early guilty plea). Plus costs and
       victim surcharge

Assuming you intend to plead guilty you can expect a fine of one
week’s net income, reduced by a third for your guilty plea. You
will also pay a surcharge of 40% of that fine and around £95
costs. The guidelines also suggest either a ban of up to 28 days
       or 4 to 6 points.
The likelihood is six points. The Single Justice will not impose
a ban in your absence and in the unlikely event the SJ believes
a ban should be considered you will be asked to attend court.

Yes pleading my guilty. I know there’s no helping in the
reasoning. It is my first offence and I need to drive for work,
not just to and from but my job requires frequent driving. I’ve
just completed my purchase on my first home too so my biggest
concern is a ban which would affect my livelihood. I’ve set
money aside for a fine already and just praying on points
       without a ban

Could you just take holiday to cover a possible ban?

I have discussed it with my boss already so that should be an
       option if necessary
