You can usually find the name(s) of your councillors on the
council website. It's important you set the scene that gave rise
to the PCs. Strangers to London (or even the UK), keen to do the
right thing etc, but told the wrong thing by council so got four
more PCNs which you consider is unfair and also disproportionate

Thanks Incandescent - I've found our three councillors online.
Given the 14 day "discount" period is nearly up, would you
recommend appealing to the Tribunal as well as contacting the
       councillors?
Also, do you think there is any 'goodwill" argument to paying
the first PCN given we don't appear to have strong arguments to
challenge this one (unless you can see any)?
Did you have any further guidance / thoughts on their responses
to the other four PCNs after taking a look at the documents I
uploaded, or is what you have shared to date our best bet?

Go to London Tribunals, but I do realise this means the full
penalties are in play, but I think you should win because you
were not given correct information by the council. Also tell
your councillors what has happened, and you consider the PCNs
should have been cancelled in view of the council false
       information you were given

Thanks Incandescent, we'll look at taking this approach. I'll
       also post an update here.
Do you think it would add weight to our position to pay the
first PCN (before the Council's incorrect advice)? I assume we
have limited (to no) ability to challenge that one?

Yes, no point in flogging a dead horse !, but the other 4 PCNs
should be cancelled, as you relied on council advice re permits.
I think you need to emphasise you are not UK citizens and have
found the situation with the four PCNs after receiving what you
took to be the correct permit to buy, as very disturbing bearing
in mind each PCN is for a large amount of money and is a direct
       result of bad council advice.

       Hi Incandescent (and all)
Thought I'd post an update on this one, as I today received
'Charge Certificates' (with a 50% increase on the charge) for
the four PCNs I have appealed.
On 18 February, I submitted the appeal for the four PCNs from
January 2026. The confirmation email said they'd confirm whether
it was accepted within 7 days, but I didn't get confirmation
until early this morning (3 March) that the appeal has been
listed for hearing on 25 August 2026.
Then I today received the four 'Charge Certificates' (dated 2
March), which noted they've been sent because they haven't been
informed that an appeal has been made. While it sounds like
there has been a delay by the Tribunal, am I right in finding it
hard to believe the first the council would have heard about the
appeal is the confirmation of the listing date?
I have also sent an email to our three councillors on 19
February, with one responding to say that they will lodge a
       Councillor enquiry into this matter.
Given I'm unfamiliar with this process here in the UK, do you
have any thoughts / guidance on how to approach these 'Charge
Certificates' to make sure the PCNs are actually "paused"
pending the appeal hearing. I have already drafted a follow-up
       email to the Councillor.
Thanks in advance for any further guidance here!

As far as I know, the council only get informed of the
adjudication when it is confirmed. The CCs cannot be enforced
until the adjudication has taken place, and really, should now
       be cancelled.

luck in calling the Council to have the Charge Certificates
       cancelled?

I think if you phone the council, they will confirm cancellation
of the CCs, because by going to London Tribunals, they cannot
enforce them. If you lose at LT, you only have to pay the PCN
penalty, and of course, if you win, you pay nothing.
