(PCN) Redbridge:Parking restriction on unmarked road?
DIR By: Ed26

Question:
Can a local authority enforce parking
restrictions on parts of a road that don’t have yellow lines or
any road markings?
Specifically Mildway Road ilford, Redbridge
HTML https://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.557045,0.075528,306.98h,-21.35p,3.35z,6w_E_WJdnvL6_c5k6RULEg
I was parked within a residents’ parking zone, but not in a
marked bay or on any of the double yellow lines, and I didn’t
have a permit. Since it was Easter Sunday, I believed parking
would be free, but I still received a PCN.
Are restrictions still enforceable in this situation, even
without road markings?
Any insights or examples would be really helpful

Is this still a live PCN?
No markings suggest they've made it a permit parking area, where
once you've gone past the entry sign, unmarked kerb is only for
permit holders and other parking (eg pay to park) is only in
signed bays.

It seems Mildmay Road is part of a Permit Zone. So how does one
access Mildmay Road ? Well, one way is off Sunnyside Road into
Albert Road, which takes you to the entrance to Mildmay Road

As you can see, the permit only signs are there, as they are
also at Belmont Road.

So you need to trace your route in GSB, looking for these signs
that mark the entrance to the zone. A large zone like this
really should have repeater signs.

Our route came from the A123 we took a left into Bedford Road
and then because of the one way systems followed it down and
left into Woodlands Road. Then first left into Albert Road and
the onto Mildway Road on the right hand side.
No signs on the google map but I don’t think images are upto
date

There are a number of permit parking areas here including in
Mildmay Road, and they need an entry sign as per the other links
posted.
What is the car VRM - you've blanked it. Redbridge have just
shown a repeater sign in what you've posted.

Your options are to pay £160 or appeal to the tribunal which
won't cost any more. You must do one of these very soon as date
of formal rejection is 14 August.
I can only think they may not have put a permit parking area
entry sign in Mildmay Road as the CEO would probably have taken
a pic of it so this would be my appeal
