       Demand letters after court date

       Hi all,
Is it standard practice that even after a date has been set for
a hearing that the claimant (one of the "XYZ Legal companies
working for UKPP) continues to send demand letters? 1st hearing
was adjourned and a new date set and letters keep coming under
the pretext of trying to settle without going to hearing.

It is expected that you may try to resolve matters all the way
       to the court house steps.
If they have paid once to attend the court they may try harder
to avoid paying to attend again.
What were the reasons for the adjournment of the first hearing?
too many issues and no time??
If it is a single issue supermarket type ticket; then I would
offer to agree to a drop hands offer: each party swallow their
own costs and walk away. no hearing needed.
If it is residential for instance with multiple tickets in the
balance, having them agree to some of your issues, could save
time and help you in the next hearing.
Is it also possible that you have multiple tickets and they are
referencing a different parking ticket which is not before the
       court?

No single ticket supermarket type ticket - overstay of 11 mins.
Contesting on the basis that grace period as indicated in the
Code of Practice was not adhered to.

In which case Albert Ross' advice to try a drop-hands offer
       seems sensible

As an aside, 11 minutes is longer than any minimum grace period
allowed for in the relevant codes of practice (although doesn't
prevent such arguments being made, depending on the
circumstances). What angle are you going for?

IPC and BPA codes of practice at the time of said contravention
indicate otherwise - hoping I have understood the wording well.
Court appearance tomorrow. Will let you know how it goes when I
       get the verdict.

The BPA one has been 10 minutes since at least 2015, I'm not
sure about the IPC one off the top of my head.
Best of luck with the hearing tomorrow!
