Redbridge, 53j - restriction on vehicles entering a pedestrian
zone, Sydney road, Perrymans farm road,
DIR By: flash2005

The driver of the vehicle got 2 similar tickets in a span of 40
minutes. This is a local road, which is being used by the driver
on a daily basis since last 10 years, and suddenly these adhoc
signs have been put up by the council recently without any
thought. Also the signs are quite high so difficult to see from
the car while driving. These restrictions apply on a specific
time, and also during specific days only (term time - which
doesn't make any sense to parents who don't have kids in
schools). This is extremely stupid, and to say I am fuming is
an understatement, as there is a postoffice adjacent to the
Sydney road which is being used on a daily basis and there is a
barber haircut adjacent to perrymans farm road which is also
being used regularly. Any way to get these tickets squashed,
and also how to teach vermin council a lesson ?

GSV is out-of-date and doesn't show the signs. Your maps of the
alternative routes is nice but irrelevant to your case, I'm
afraid.
We need to know what the text is on the blue signs below the
restriction signs. It is possible this is a winner as similar
cases have been won at London Tribunals, but you must be
prepared to forego the discount.

The text in blue says in 3 lines.
School Streets
Restricted Access
Term-time only
Don’t care about discount. This is extremely stupid and needs to
be dismissed.

Your best adviser is Hippocrates, who has already taken a
similar case to London Tribunals and won. The key words are
"Term-time only". So how are you expected to know what the
term-times are ? It is a failure to adhere to Regulation 18 of
LATOR 2009

?

I have posted the signage above. Can you advise on the next
steps ?
