       PCN - Barnet Council - London NW2
   DIR By: GDB22
       Date: July 2, 2025, 7:30 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I inadvertently drove into a part-time pedestrian area in an
area I'm unfamiliar with. The only traffic sign is literally
broken - it has a big crack down the middle. See:
  HTML https://maps.app.goo.gl/9f3TR5viCxgWYiP1A
I approached down the main road, at right angles to the sign, so
the crack made it really difficult to decipher.
The fine is £80, if paid immediately. Should I just pay it, or
would I be likely to succeed on appeal?
       Thanks for your help.

We need to see the PCN - no redactions apart from name and
       address.
Edit the thread title to state location and council.

Also post the video evidence. Preliminary data show conflicting
       signage Here

There's no video evidence, just three still pictures, which I
can't download from the council website.
       You can view them here:
  HTML https://barnetocm.itsvc.co.uk/
You need to paste in the PCN no. ag49142199 and the car reg

I've added the PCN to my OP.
I've changed the thread title in the OP, but that doesn't seem
to have changed it lower down the thread, I'm afraid.

May be something on the one sign here. There are advance signs.
       Tribunal may have cases.

By advance signs, do you mean a sign in the road that I turned
       out of?
The sign in the video is taken from high up and straight in
front and doesn't show the damage to the sign. I can take a
photo from where I approached it, if that helps at all?

The video doesn't show the sign on the right. I think there are
grounds due to conflicting signage. The first says that vehicles
bellow 5t are allowed and the second gives time restrictions

The sign probably isn't damaged as it may have a hinge if they
close the sign out of term time. Anyway Maps view is from last
year and the sign looks fine in the council's pics and video.
       The advance sign is here:
  HTML https://maps.app.goo.gl/7WSShMrvE6NhBxqS9
I'll have a look at the tribunal later.

If I pass that way soon, I'll take some photos of the signage
       and post those here.
In the meantime, I'm getting the impression that I should just
       pay the fine?
