       Hello,
I have today recieved a charge certificate from Merton Copuncil
for entering a pedestrian zone. This is the first communication
I have recieved from them, no other letters at all.
       Date of contravention - 21/03/25
Date of PCN isued - 11/04/25
       Charge Certificate Issued - 15/05/25
I can't appeal to them - what options do I have, please?
       Thanks
       T

Wait for the next document in the chain which will be an Order
for Recovery. You can get the enforcement process reset to the
PCN stage by filing a Statutory Declaration to the Traffic
Enforcement Centre of Northampton County Court. Please follow
       the guide here.
HTML http:// When reset the Council will serve the PCN again and you
can pay or challenge and appeal.
Post back when you get anything.

You should be able to get this automatically reset: for the
       process now see
  HTML https://www.ftla.uk/announcements/charge-certificates-london-local-authorities-and-tfl-act-2003-london-local-autho/msg20808/#msg20808
The most important thing is not to miss deadlines.
Does Merton's website have a page for the history/status of a
PCN (often lurking under PayMy PCn or ViewEvidence or somesuch)?
Any problems with the post? Is the address on the V5C and on the
Charge Cert. correct in every particular?

       OK.
Spelling mistake on V5 is your problem. If it's significant,
then get DVLA to change it. If this has been carried through to
the CC, then it strongly suggests that the council followed
correct procedure in obtaining your keeper details from DVLA.

       Thanks HC.
It's a minor one on the surename, in the 14 letter surename
instead of an "i" there is a "t" thanks all, all else is fine.
       Thanks

update - I phond theh council to advise I never recieved
anything prior to CC and they have re=set this back to initial
stage. (had to do this as the ticket was for my mother and she
was stressing and wanted to pay the £195).
However, upon checking back onthe website it shows the below
       attached #confused
       Thanks for all help

'Reset', whatever this term means to them.
Their options are to consider reps made outside the 28-day
period or cancel or register with the Traffic Enforcement
       Centre.
What do you have in writing?
