Hi,
Lambeth rejected my informal appeal (attached) what chances do I
have with a formal appeal? Obviously its double jeopardy (£80 to
£160) if I lose.

They haven't really considered your challenge and the mix-up
with using their own online system.
I would be minded to try again citing government fairness
guidance but the stakes are high now but they may well repeat
the discount offer.

Thanks - anyone else. Do I have ground to win in a formal appeal
/ Tribunal or should I just cough up 80 GBP for an honest
mistake.

I don't think you have a slam-dunk win appeal for London
Tribunals, but if you're prepared to stand your ground on their
bad attitude, then wait for the Notice to Owner. As SFM says,
they have failed to consider your challenge, which is a
procedural impropriety on its own. However you have accept that
you are risking the full penalty.

Is there any precedent? I am sure I am not the first who has
mistyped or selected the wrong field.
What are my cancels - I am trying to weight the time effort
versus the cost. I can pull out good design guideliness for web
systems but all requires time and research.

Should this not be classified as a major keying error and as
such be offered an administrative fee of £20 or similar?

No. Your reference is to unregulated parking on private land,
'parking' (not penalty) charge notices from private companies
and the private sector Code of Practice. Chalk and cheese I'm
afraid.
