       SJP for speeding

       Hi,
I missed updating some paperwork after a relationship breakdown
and so the initial speeding letter went to my ex's house. It
wasn't passed on to me until after the deadline to provide the
       driver details.
As soon as I became aware of it, I provided the driver details
       (me).
I was expecting to receive a SJP for 2 offences, the original
speeding offence and a failure to provide offence.
I've received a SJP for just the speeding. In this situation:
       1. Am I likely to receive another SJP for failure to notify?
       2. Should I plead guilty to the speeding? I was expecting to
plead not guilty to both and offer to plead guilty to speeding
if the failure to notify is dropped

How far past the deadline to provide the driver's details did
       you return the paperwork?

The original letter was sent 28/10/24.
The driver details were provided on 14/03/25
       SJP received today

If they were going to charge you with the FtF, it almost certain
they would have been part of the same SJPN.

You might have got lucky on this one. It is unlikely (though
not impossible) that they are progressing two charges with
       separate cases ie. two SJP's.
Might be worth checking with your ex to make sure that nothing
has been sent there though - just in case.

Unless you have a defence to that charge then guilty seems to be
       the only option?

It would appear that they have accepted your nomination. I
cannot see that they then raise a charge for FTP details
separately when they have charged you with speeding based upon
       your submission.
Not knowing the speed you were measured at, but because of the
time frames involved this was always likely to go to SJPN as
there would be no time left to offer a fixed penalty before the
       expiration of 6 months.

Thanks. Happy to accept the speeding offence. Was just worried I
might plead guilty and then receive one for failure to provide
details and end up being done for both.

It's not impossible but unlikely at this stage. (As noted, if
there was a driver identity issue then they would likely have
pursued that charge at this point)
