UK Parking Control -- Parking Out Of Hours -- Money Claim Issued

Hi everyone,
Would be grateful for any help and advice i can get here.
Currently have a money claim court form from UK parking control
for parking in a car park after hours.
The car park in question is a retail park and the signs are not
lit at night. There is a McDonalds on site and I bought a meal
from them and parked up to eat it.
They are claiming for the ticket, interest and legal costs and
court fees. The total is £262 68
I have not been told who owns the car park or shown a copy of
the contract giving them permission to persue matters through to
court.
The court papers also do not have my full address on them ....
Is this a mistake?

Not had a chance to return and take any photos of the signs as
it is not close to me.

With an issue date of 2nd April, you have until 4pm on Tuesday
22nd April to submit your defence. If you submit an
Acknowledgement of Service (AoS) before then, you would then
have until 4pm on Tuesday 6th May to submit your defence.
If you want to submit an AoS then follow the instructions in
this linked PDF:

Otherwise, here is the defence and link to the draft order that
goes with it. You only need to edit your name and the claim
number. You sign the defence by typing your full name for the
signature and date it. There is nothing to edit in the draft
order.
When you're ready you combine both documents as a single PDF
attachment and send as an attachment in an email to
claimresponses.cnbc@justice.gov.uk and CC in yourself. The claim
number must be in the email subject field and in the body of the
email just put: "Please find attached the defence and draft
order in the matter of UK Parking Control Ltd v [your full name]

struck out the claim of its own initiative after determining
that the Particulars of Claim failed to comply with CPR 16.4.
The judge noted that the claimant had failed to:

After getting an acknowledgement of my defence from HM Courts on
22/04/2025.
UK parking control state today ...
'Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform
you that our client intends to proceed with the claim.'
They have included their N180 directions questionnaire.
What is my next step please?

The case will be allocated to your local court, you will have a
telephone mediation session at which you offer nothing, and in
due course DCB Legal will withdraw from the case. It’s what they
do, essentially to use the court system to intimidate people
into payment but avoiding paying the court fee and cost of
attendance for people who stay the course.
