TfL Enfield A10 Great Cambridge Road Northbound Bus Lane PCN

Hi all,
I need advice again. we have this bus route next to our home.
Its a route we take minimum 4 times back and forth doing the
school runs every day and avoid using bus lane or getting a
ticket. On this occasion, 12 year old was dying to pee, so my
husband overtook right at the end of the bus lane to get into
the left lane to exit the roundabout. Is there any chance of
appeal with these grounds? I received a ticket for my car on
this spot when they first introduced this camera a good few
years ago and I appealed by sending in the bus lane camera
template that was provided on pepipoo and the PCN was cancelled
but things have changed I'm sure since that.
Please kindly advice.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the location given on
the PCN is not specific enough. However, you've told us you
drive along this road, (and beside the bus lane) four times a
day, so would be reasonably aware where the alleged
contravention took place.
So as you are familiar with the location, please post up a GSV
link to the bus lane concerned.
As well as the contravention, there have been serious issues
with TfL management of the enforcement process such that appeals
have been won on that basis, rather than refuting the alleged
contravention
So wait a bit until those expert in these matters respond. As
for your reason for entering the bus lane, this is mitigation,
so could not be considered at London Tribunals.

Well, having now seen the location, and looked at the video, I
reckon you were in the bus lane for over 67 metres, or 73 yards
and their video shows you charging past already in the bus lane
so it may be more. This is way, way, over any possibility of a
de minimis argument.
So you are back to a 'technical' appeal argument, which I pass
on to others more experienced in holding TfL's hand to the fire.
Funny, isn't it, that in none of the videos I've seen of cars in
bus lanes, one never, ever , sees a bus in them !
