Redbridge PCN - High Road Seven Kings (A). Stopped on a
restricted bus stop
DIR By: fox10

Good evening,
My Auntie has just received this PCN below and she got it while
she was trying to pull away and merge into the traffic. She is
a blue badge holder and had parked well before the bus stop.
The Video conveniently only shows her in the bus stop not the
seconds before she entered the bust stop or after and one can
clearly see she is trying to safely pull away but had to wait
for an opportunity. Looks very similar to one posted on here
last year:

/>
Please advise, many thanks

Where had she come from before - on a yellow line in the view we
can see?
in her favour are merge arrows right by the bus stop but you can
drive through on the bus stop as long as you don't stop! It's
not a bus lane.
It's a vague location on the PCN - do you have a map link?

We need to know where she was stationary. Once one starts to
signal, and drive off, then one is "in traffic". If one is "in
traffic" the contravention cannot occur, or else any line of
traffic standing on the bus stop could be walloped with PCNs,
which is obviously absurd.

This is a petty PCN.

This should be cancelled by Redbridge.
----------
The contravention did not occur.
I am a blue badge holder and parked on the single yellow line
just before the bus stop.
When I drove away I had to merge with a lot of fast moving
traffic that you can see on your video and so was engaged in a
driving manoeuvre and the brief wait at the start of the bus
stop area was only to ensure I could safely drive away.
I trust you will cancel this PCN and look forward to your early
confirmation.

Thanks everyone. Redbrdige cancelled this PCN but stated the
usual that the PCN was rightly served.

They usually say that but if they'd bothered to view more of the
video they would know it was a driving situation. What's worse
is if they did view it, but then cut it down and issued the PCN.
Redbridge is probably the worse than Newham these days.
