       No, I know it wasn't a criticism. Initially you said you were
       surprised to have received a NIP and then suggested that part of
       that surprise may have stemmed from your wife not passing her
       NIP to you.
       I can only assume that, not only did your wife not pass her NIP
       to you (which she had no need to do) but also that she didn't
       mention she had received it and had subsequently named you as
       the driver (which I find odd, especially as she was with you
       when the alleged offence occurred). Hence I find it odd that you
       were surprised to have received your own NIP.

       conclusions.
       You are also wrong on several counts (which will happen when you
       assume) and I do not have the time to entertain this.

       One of NJ's failings is that he tries too hard to help people
       who are determined to only tell us half the story. Hopefully he
       will get the help he so desperately needs.
       You told us that you were surprised to receive a NIP. This is
       "half a story". I have long since ceased caring whether or not
       there is a potential defence hidden behind the other half of the
       story, or whether it is just random noise.
       That said, beyond his irrational desire to help those that
       exhibit little apparent desire to help themselves, I see no
       error in his logic.
