NPC - Gatwick - non payment of drop off charge
DIR By: mightyreal

Hi all, I received a parking charge for allegedly not paying for
the drop off charge. I did pay it though however but I do
remember I didn't receive an email confirmation - I didn't think
much of it as it did come out of my bank so I have now appealed
it and showed a screenshot of my bank transaction... Anyone
encountered a similar situation?

To help us help you, please read the following thread carefully,
and provide as much of the information it asks for as you are
able to: READ THIS FIRST - Private Parking Charges Forum guide
HTML https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/
We will also need to see a copy of exactly what you submitted as
your appeal, and in what capacity you appealed (driver,
vehicle's keeper, hirer, etc.)

Thanks for your response. I appealed and told the truth. Told
them I was the driver and that I paid for the drop off charge
but didn't get an email back after paying and sent them a
screenshot of the payment leaving my bank

What's done is done but for future reference if you come here
first we can help tackle these things on first appeal.
If you provide the information mentioned in the guide then we
can advice. A timeline with dates would be useful.

You haven't broken any rules, but in order to be able to provide
good advice, you need to provide as much of the information that
is mentioned in the "READ THIS FIRST" guide I linked above.

It’s not a case of telling the truth. No one is suggesting you
lie. However, there is a difference and admitting liability when
there was no reason to do so and thus throwing away the “golden
ticket” is not the way forward.
By being “truthful” instead of being sensible you have now
prolonged this matter and are likely to have to defend this in
court if you honestly believe that you’ve been wronged.
All you had to do was appeal as the registered keeper of the
vehicle and this would have been over. NCP had no idea who the
driver was until you blabbed it by being “truthful”. Because
Gatwick airport is land under statutory control (bylaws) the
Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 does not apply and therefore
there can be no Keeper liability.
There is no legal obligation on the Keeper to identify the
driver to an unregulated private parking company and no
inference or assumptions can be made. The burden of proof was on
NCP to identify the driver but you have simply done the job for
them, instead of leaving them with no choice but to cancel the
PCN.
So, you’ve been asked above to provide a copy of the NtK but you
don’t appear to be reading or noticing the request above.
