Either take our advice, or don't. Please refrain from making
noise by asking questions that have already been answered.

Hi again All, I have now heard back with a summons to court.
Just wondered what the best way to go about this is? From what I
gather I should turn up early, be polite and ask for the clerk
of the court and/or the prosecuter?
is it as straight forward/formal as just say 'hello, In my plea
I mentioned that I would be willing to switch my not guilty plea
for the speeding offences if the failure to provide driver info
charges are dropped' and let them respond or is it more of a
conversation kind of thing?
Guess Im just trying to understand what the dynamic should be?
And if for some reason Im not able to get hold of them
beforehand what happens?

The Clerk to the Court (these days usually called a Legal
Adviser) won't be able to help you but the CPS Prosecutor should
sort you out.
Pretty much as you say, just let the Prosecutor know what you
want. They will be completely familiar with this and probably
fairly helpful.
One other point, although some on here refer to a 'plea deal'
and the like, this is not really what this is. The phrase is
used because it is catchy and seen on American films and TV
shows.
This process is simply a matter of policy in England and Wales
and provided everything else you have mentioned is correct, the
CPS will happily handle things in the way suggested.

When you say you have a "summons", I doubt you have. Have you
already responded to the SJPN by pleading not guilty as
suggested? If so what you have is probably an adjournment notice
informing you of a date when your case will be heard and you can
attend (you cannot attend a SJ hearing).
If so, if you are unable to speak to the prosecutor beforehand,
when you are called into court the first thing you will be asked
(after identifying yourself) is to confirm your pleas. It is at
this stage that you can make your offer.

The letter that I have received does say on it summons to court,
and says 'you are summonsed to attend the court sitting'
Does that mean that something different is going to happen?
To answer your other question aswell...yes I did respond online
to the sjpn saying not guilty to both but saying I will change
the not guilty if the failure to provide info charge is dropped

That surprises me, but it doesn't matter. The advice is the
same.
Before the pandemic it was always necessary to attend court to
negotiate this "deal". When the pandemic hit courts were
obviously keen to avoid as many personal attendances as possible
and arrangements were made for this deal to be accepted without
a court attendance. Many courts have continued with this process
but some have reverted to the old arrangements. Looks like yours
is one of them.

No, nothing different is going to happen.
This is simply a mechanism for bringing the matter into a court
room. When you arrive (early, before the Prosecutor starts
presenting cases in court) that is the time to have a word with
them.

Ok thanks guys, Ill do exactly that then
Turn up early, ask someone there to point me in the direction of
the prosecutor, say 'hello, Im 'x'...Id like to talk about my
plea if possible. In my online plea I plead not guilty to both
the speeding charges and both the failure to provide driver info
charges but offered to change my not guilty plea for the
speeding if the failure to provide charges are not continued.
Are you willing to accept that offer?'
Fingers crossed it goes as expected...will update afterwards
