Car Insurance

Hello, I hope you can help with my question about motor
insurance please. My partner is a named driver on my car
policy. It was just for emergency use as she was not keen on
driving and rarely did. Sadly she has now passed away. The
insurance company will charge a fee to make a mid term change to
the policy. So my question is, am I legally required to remove
her name from the policy if I am the main driver? Or is it OK
to wait until normal renewal time?
Thanks.

Sorry to hear that.
There is no obligation to remove your partner's name mid-term in
this situation, nor to notify insurers of her death. Do nothing
until renewal and make the change then. There's is no need to
explain why you are taking her name off the policy at renewal.
