Hi b789,
The defendant has now received the following response letter
through the post. Why do they all of a sudden require email and
phone number, and more importantly, should we be giving them
such info?

There's no reason not to give them your email address. It is far
easier to communicate through email rather than post. It is
instant and you have a record of sending and, as long as it the
tail is not rejected, you have proof of delivery.
No need to give them your contact number. They have your name
and address and you can give them an email address for
correspondence.
If you're really worried about giving them an email address, if
you're an Apple user you can use "Hide my email" or get yourself
a disposable email address from any number of providers.

Thanks for the reply, in your experience is this likely them
wanting to continue pursuing court action or resolve it?

It's all part of the standard process. I'd still wager they'll
eventually discontinue, but you should continue on the basis
it's going ahead unless/until it is discontinued.

I'd give odds of 100:1 that they will discontinue early next
year if not sooner.
When they come back to you with offers to settle, ignore them.

Hi all,
Received more comms from DCB Legal, they've now reverted to
postal format after requesting and contacting via email
previously, for 'tactical reasons' it appears, see below.
- They've indicated that their client wants to go to court, but
we can settle within 7 days of the letter
- Notice how it's dated 8 days ago but only dropped through the
mail box today....

They also attached a copy of their paperwork for court, presume
this is just a scare tactic used:

Is this just a final attempt at a settlement before dropping it?

copy of their DQ. You will eventually receive your own DQ. Check
your MCOL history to see when yours has been sent.
In anticipation and to get ahead of the game, you can download
your own here:

Fill it in online and you can sign it by simply typing your full
name for the signature. When you see that yours has been sent in
your MCOL history, you simply send yours in a single email
addressed to both dq.cnbc@justice.gov.uk and info@dcnlegal.co.uk
and CC in yourself.
Any question about the form, ask here. In anticipation, here are
the answers to theusual questions:

Thanks for this b789, just double checking that the second email
address is a typo and should be the info@dcblegal ? Or is this
another government email address that I'm unfamiliar with.
