My Plates Have Been Cloned! - 3 PCN's from Haringey, and one
private ticket from TNC.

Hi everyone,
not even sure how to start this, but yesterday I got 3 PCN's in
the post from Haringey for failing to comply with a prohibition
on certain types of vehicle. 52(M).
From the pictures I could tell straight away it wasn't my car.
Similar make and model, but not mine. We've never driven down
these roads on the days in question, either.
A week earlier I got a letter from a private parking firm, TNC,
representing P4Parking. Alledging that I parked at HMP Thameside
on 18/05/2024, I believe its a prison. We've definately have NOT
been there. At the time I assumed TNC made a mistake, since
they're a private parking company.
So it seems they've been driving around with my plates since at
least March.
Now it turns out my plates have been cloned, and I am super
stressed. I've reported it to the police already and have a CAD
number.
I want to post the PCN pictures here, but I don't want whoever
cloned it to come across this post, and make changes so that it
matches my car even more. There are certain indicators which
show its not my car.
I did a cursory search on this site, and it seems someone else
had the same cloned plate issues around the Haringey area. Could
it be the same person? What can be done to catch this scumbag?
I just feel super stressed over this. I've been advised to put
an identifying sticker on my car, any advice?

Well, the main point is that you mustn't just ignore the PCNs.
You need now to submit representations against them based on
your narrative. You need to clearly state that you have never
driven your car at the locations concerned on the dates on the
PCNs. In addition you need to point out the differences between
your car and the car with clones plates and also to provide the
police crime number. For the private ticket, I would think
something similar, but this forum doesn't deal with private
tickets, although somebody may come on who posts on both.

Are you from the London area?
You may wish to take some pre-emptive action by phoning TfL and
LB Haringey to see if there are any more PCNs outstanding
against your reg.mark.
If the PCNs are from May alleged offences , what makes you think
the cloning began in March?
Please post up the dates of the LBH PCNs and a draft of your
proposed representations.
Searching this forum with 'cloned' as the search term (top r-h
cornerof this page) produces a number of other cloning cases
which it may be helpful to read through in p[reparing your own
reps..

Yes I am from the London area. What makes me think March is
because about a week or two ago I got a letter from TNC
representing P4Parking. Its a private parking firm. They alledge
that I parked at HMP Thameside carpark. It's a prison car park.
I ignored it, because it's a private parking firm, and it's gone
to the "debt collector" stage, not that I recieved the original
NTK anyway. And also because I chalked it down to them making an
error with someone else's number plate, the letter has no
pictures.
Dates:
TNC Letter: 19th June 2024 (although it didn't come through
until the first week of July).
They alledge date and time: 18/05/2024 22:10
Haringey PCNs in order:
02/07/2024 - 06:34 - Failing to comply with a prohibition on
certain types of vehicle (motor vehicles)
02/07/2024 - 13:00 - Failing to comply with a prohibition on
certain types of vehicle (motor vehicles)
02/07/2024 - 14:57 - Failing to comply with a prohibition on
certain types of vehicle (motor vehicles)

I suggest you start a second thread in the Private Parking
Tickets

I just got another 5 PCNs come through from Haringey.
This is so super stressful.
If I find this person, do I call the police? I wonder if they'd
even show up...
I've been inundated with work this whole week, I've not had a
moment to write a draft.

Please expand your list to include the five new PCNs. Also for
all eight please state the date of contravention and the date of
the postal Penalty Charge Notices.
Also are the alleged contraventions all at the same location and
the same contravention as the first three?

I've been busy with work, so I've not had a chance to update
everything. I am back now.
They are at different places, I will update the list, with the
locations etc included, and perhaps some photos of the PCN.

RE: Penalty Charge Notice xxxxxxxx
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to make representations against the Penalty Charge
Notice xxxxxx, issued against my alleged vehicle. Registration
number LK56CSZ on 02/07/2024 at Sperling Road N17.
I have had an influx of such fines from Haringey council. So far
8 in total.
They are all around the same area, in Haringey.

The vehicle is clearly not my vehicle and the number-plate has
been cloned. I have reported the cloning of my vehicle’s number
plates to the police.
Please find the following information and evidence to support my
claim:
Grounds for Appeal:
I have reported the suspected cloning of my vehicle’s nu,ber
plates to the police. The crime reference number for this report
is CAD xxxxxxx. The police have confirmed that they will update
the Police national Computer with this report and advise that my
number plates have been cloned.
additionally , I have ben advised by the police to inform the
issuing authority and provide any evidence that it was not my
vehicle involved in the alleged contravention. My vehicle was
not at the location of the alleged contravention at the time
stated.
Supporting Evidence:
I have attached photos of the cloned car, and my car for
comparison's sake. Though they are both of similar models, they
can still be told apart.

I've a feeling that you need to submit reps for each PCN
invividually - see what the experts say.
By all means cross-reference the others with a list.
One way of dealing with multiple PCNs used to be put all the
individual reps in one envelope, prefacing each with something
along the lines of I wish these reps to the above PCN tpo be
considered together with [and list the others]. It meant you
hopefully got the same person addressing all the PCNs.

Please post your proposed 'Spot the Difference' photos here for
