If you are referring to what the French call "capote Anglaise",
that is something that might have prevented the argument.

The Freeman in question has found himself not so free for the
next few months, getting a 6 month sentence.

I have nothing but admiration for the patience and diligence
shown by the judge!

Yes I did note the odd typo or two.
But I had to admire him for the way he addressed “points of law”
raised by someone who was clearly crackers, as if they were
raised by an eminent KC.

Fun one here:
Hodder v Peacekeepers Foundation [2026] EWCC 37 (10 April 2026)
HTML https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/Misc/2026/CC37.html
A visitor to a FoTL style website took them up on their 'No
Obligation Challenge' to disprove their beliefs (with a prize
apparently on offer), then sued when they failed to pay up.
"The Defendant's views are, of course, complete legal
nonsense; this judgement will not be a recitation of the reasons
why."
