UKPC charge now £170 – any way to get it reset to original
       amount?

       Hi all,
I’m looking for some advice regarding a UKPC parking charge.
The parking event was on 27/08/2026 at The Broadwalk Centre,
Station Road, Edgware. The reason given was “Not parked
correctly within the markings of the bay or space.”
I received the Notice to Keeper dated 04/09/2026. The original
charge was £100, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
Unfortunately I didn’t deal with it at the time, and when I
checked online recently the outstanding balance had increased to
       £170.
At this stage I’m not looking to ignore it. Ideally I’d like to
get it put back to the original charge (or the £60 discounted
amount if possible) and get it settled.
Has anyone had success getting UKPC to remove the additional
amount and accept the original charge after the discount period
has passed? If so, what is the best way to approach them?
       Thanks for any advice.

Thanks a lot, I’ve now read the guide.
I am the registered keeper and have the V5C in my possession.
The parking event was on 27/08/2026 at The Broadwalk Centre,
Edgware. The Notice to Keeper is dated 04/09/2026.
I have attached a redacted copy of the Notice to Keeper, with
the dates, times and relevant details left visible.

I haven’t contacted UKPC about the charge.
I would appreciate your advice on what I should do next and
whether there are grounds to challenge the charge?

There is, for example, no “period of parking” as required under
       9(2)(a) of
  HTML https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/schedule/4
       so if the
driver is not otherwise identified there is no way the liability
can be transferred to the registered keeper.

Thank you very much for your advice.
I’ve literally just found the Final Reminder as well – I was
away when it came through, so unfortunately it’s now gone past
the appeal stage and has been passed to debt recovery at £170.
Given the POFA issue you’ve pointed out, what would you suggest
I do at this stage? Is it still worth contacting UKPC or the
debt recovery company and challenging keeper liability, or do I
now need to wait and see if they take it further?
       Really appreciate your advice.

UKPC will not accept an appeal.
Have nothing to do with debt recovery companies, ignore and do
       not contact them.
Come back when you get a Letter of Claim from a solicitor.
You will subsequently have to defend a county court claim.
Search the forum for similar cases in the meantime.
