PCN - Southwark Council - One Way/NRT missing signage - Henslowe

Hi!
I've received a PCN from Southwark council for turning up a
one-way street.
My reason(s) for wondering about contesting the charge are due
to a lack of signage. As seen in the photos, there are No Entry
signs facing out, but no No Right Turn signs on the approach.
There is also 'NO ENTRY' painted on the road (though on the
wrong side? Struggling to understand why).
My argument would be there was insufficient signage and along
with the inclement weather (it was raining heavily), the signage
that is there (no entry) are not clear when turning right (as
they're not facing the direction of travel until turning).
I did not continue down the road, but three-point turned and
exited once I realised (due to the direction of parked cars),
Suspect my case is unlikely to succeed, but thought I'd see what
the experts think! Thanks in advance.

Having looked at GSV, the signage could be better, there being
no No Right, (or Left) turn signs on the approaches. Councils
have a duty to erect "adequate" signage in Rule 18(1)(a) of The
Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and
Wales) Regulations 1996

Needless to say, like a lot of English legislation, the word
'adequate' is subjective; your 'inadequate' is a council's
'adequate', so to win this one, you'll have to forego the
discount and take them all the way to the adjudicators at London
Tribunals.

The contravention is made out once you go beyond the line of the
signs.
Possible grounds are visibility on approach and procedural
matters (member Hippo should be along).

PCN is unenforceable due to stating they can send a charge
certificate 28 days from the date of the notice.

IMO, your case is one of these, see p.130.

An advisory contra-flow cycle lane. The upright NE signs are
incorrect because the 'Except Cycles' associated plate on the
right may only be placed on the left: upright signs are more
visible than road markings(in this case No Entry') and being on
the wrong side can only encourage cyclists to enter at that
point. I'm surprised there isn't a pile of road kill cyclists
visible, or at least a blood-stained road!
And the cycle marking should accompanied by are arrow.
Hey-ho.
Are we sure there aren't some warning signs nearby, this
arrangement of signs looks like an accident waiting to happen.
I would have thought that given the complexity of this junction
an adjudicator might well find that in the absence of warning
signs it's inadequately signed.

Thank for all the replies so far! Taking a look through the
links.
In reply to tincombe: nope, there's no other warning signs. I
walked back to a hundred yards or so to a mini-roundabout where
this section of the road starts and there are zero signs in
relation to the upcoming limitations.
