       EPC Hungary Toll

       Hi
Im new so apologies if im doing anything wrong with this
posting. Ive read through and found this forum extremely
helpful. But just wanted to share this to help me and hopefully
       others.
Driving all through Europe a few months ago always bought
vignettes no problem. Apart from Hungary where we allegedly
bought the wrong category. We have a camper under 3.5t and
picked the class that includes campers under 3.5t but apparently
theres another class we should have picked. (Extremely ambiguous
wording) Anyway got back to a demand off EPC. My question is do
I reply to EPC telling them I won't be paying or do I simply
ignore everything until the tiny chance of court summons. At
which point Im confident of winning anyway. Thank you for your
help and all the great work that is done on here

If you Google the firm in question you'll see plenty of examples
of how they operate. I'm not aware of any cases reaching court,
but equally I've not spent much time looking into them.
If it were me, I'd be curious as to what basis they used to
       acquire my data from DVLA.

       it with DVLA

If you're looking to do so, a sensible starting point might be a
Subject Access Request, to see who has accessed your data, and
for what purpose they told the DVLA they needed it.

When we've looked at EPC before we concluded it is a debt
collector and has no authority to pursue a court claim as that
can only be done by the relevant traffic tribunal/authority.
I recall an FOI to TFL asking how many or how much cases/money
were enforced/recovered in Europe by court action (and not
people just being scared into paying) I think the answer was
       none!

Thank you that's reassuring. Like I say it wasnt that I didnt
pay I bought the category that I still think covers my vehicle.
But obviosuly if EPC think they can make a quick buck then
they'll be all over it. Im nearing the end of my 60 day appeal
period. Im still in two minds whether to reply or ignore. What
would your gut feeling be if you dont mind me asking?
