Thanks, I'd mistakenly thought that if they had not adhered to
the legislation, ie: the 'POLICE' legend on the tarmac and had
not maintained the lines sufficiently that even with the signage
on the post I would have a good chance at an appeal but it seems
that would be a high risk from what you and others are saying so
may need to just pay up.

Unfortunately, adjudicators are very fond of the words
"substantially compliant". Perfection of line etc is not a
requirement. I think maybe you should investigate what t he
police meant when they said you could park in York Road.

That is a shame, and to be frank a disgrace, given the money
they recoup the least they could be is fully compliant!
Thought about that but I think that is a non started as they
said I could park in the road, there are paid bays there as well
as the resident & Police bays so I think an adjudicator would
just say they were right, you could park on the road, but they
did not say you could park anywhere on that road!

All paid begrudgingly as did not think it worth the risk or time
etc.
